against Pels in New Orleans on Feb 4th
I'm guessing he will sit it out so he can do it at home

I think he'll break it in the home game after our game. He's calculated and he's going to want to do it at Crypto. It'll be more meaningful as a I expect them to stop the game and celebrate the accomplishment.

Before people get too excited, there's a chance he breaks it here, but it's a stretch right now to say he's on pace for that.

He needs 224 points right now. If he plays all 6 games before ours and averages 32 pts in them, then his 32nd point in our game would break the record. If it's close at the end, we should just keep fouling him so he either has to miss the free throws or break the record here lol.

From espn:

- At his career scoring average of 27.2 points per game, James would need nine games to break the mark, putting him on track to do it Feb. 9 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

- At his 2022-23 scoring average of 29.8 points per game, James would need eight games to break the mark, putting him on track to do it Feb. 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

- Since turning 38 on Dec. 30, James is averaging 35.1 points per game. If he maintains that average, James would need seven games to break the mark, putting him on track to do it Feb. 4 against the New Orleans Pelicans.

This all assumes James plays every game between now and when he breaks the record. He's already missed 10 games this season and the Lakers have two sets of back-to-backs between now and the end of February.

Looks like the OKC or MIL game he will do it in.... assuming he has some DNP on their 5 Game Road Trip

Tue, Jan 24 LA (PLAY)
Wed, Jan 25 San Antonio (DNP)
Sat, Jan 28 @Boston (PLAY)
Mon, Jan 30 @Brooklyn (DNP)
Tue, Jan 31 @New York (PLAY)
Thu, Feb 2 @Indiana (PLAY)
Sat, Feb 4 @New Orleans (PLAY)

Tue, Feb 7 vs Oklahoma City (PLAY)
Thu, Feb 9 vs Milwaukee (PLAY)

My true guess it will be Thursday, Feb 9th vs MIL on TNT

I'm sure OKC game would get picked up by ESPN because of the occasion but the MIL game makes the most sense

Too bad Kareem had to wait until he was 22 to enter the NBA, Lebron would still be four years away from the scoring title.
