Remember, Tobias Harris is a UFA for them too.

If they don’t get him back or do a sign and trade, they blew a lot of assets on him at the deadline for nothing.

I read that the thinking is there is a big drop off in talent after the top 3 and very little drop in talent in 4-14.

I've really dove into this draft and I really disagree with this. I think the talent and potential actually drops off drastically after #7, #8 if you want to include Reddish but I want nothing to do with him.

It's just hard for me to fathom trading out of the top 7. I would much prefer one swing at a star at #4 then two swings at much lesser prospects later in the lottery.

Not a surprise.

The Clip Show was going to shop him in an attempt to open up another max slot.

I know it’s different circumstances but I have a feeling that this summer could be similar to the 2016 free agency with all the big contracts. The fact that Horford and Barnes are opting out to look for more long term money and that a lot of teams have extra space, could lead to some bad, bad deals.

I 100% agree with you! After 7 it drops off. If we’d do the deal with the Hawks for 8 and 10, I’d rather it be on draft night to insure that someone outside of that group had been grabbed and one of the seven is still available.

I’ve been getting that feeling the last few days, too.

It probably helps us a bit directly and indirectly since we don’t have much to spend and, by prices getting bloated across the league, it helps frick the Lakers’ chances at getting ring chasers if they sign a third star instead of role players.

Yeah these contracts are gonna be crazy this year. That's why I'm excited that we have so much young talent and depth. We won't have any reason or incentive to overpay a FA with a massive contract *cough Solo cough* we can build this team the right way. Developing a core and a culture.

And I too am not a fan of flipping #4 for picks #8 and #10. I'm much higher on Culver and Garland than any of the other guys after the main three prospects, so I'd much rather just take one of those two at pick #4. Or trade it for a young star like Aaron Gordon or Myles Turner. If we aren't getting one of those back, I'd keep the pick and draft one of those two guards that can shoot and create their own shot as well as be a secondary ball handler and distributor. Culver is a good defender as well, with better size. Better all around player, while Garland is the better shooter and scorer. We desperately need shooting and Garland provides that and potential in bunches. Gonna be a interesting 48 hours to see what Griffin and Langdon decide to do.

Ask yourself why the Hawks wanna give 8 & 10 for 3 or 4....

Precisely why we shouldnt do that. Im taking Garland or Barrett there

I completely agree. Though I think I could cut it off even more and say top 6. I love Hunter, but I don’t think he possesses the ability to dominate games like Zion, Morant, Barrett, Garland, Culver, and White potentially could.

I would prefer to stay put so that I’m guaranteed to land Zion and one of Morant, Barrett, or Garland. But if we do trade back, I feel it’s in our best interest to only trade back far enough to where I’m still guaranteed to land Culver or White.

If someone wants to take a chance on the potential of Reddish and/or the floor of Hunter, even better because I know I can trade back a little further to 7 or 8 and still land Culver or White.

I get Jamal Murray vibes from Garland. Not the best defender, not the most athletic, combo guard.

But can shoot the lights out of a gym. Pure scorer/shooter. I would absolutely take Jamal Murray at 4.

The Nets strongly believe they are the frontrunners to sign Kyrie Irving when free agency commences June 30, league sources say.

Yeah, yesterday rumors came out that they may be interested in trading up to 4 for Garland.

14, Memphis pick, Robert Williams for 4. Who says no?

ETA: I just realized this was one of the MM scenarios for trading the 4
