Most likely any move will require a trade with our gluttony of guards.
... whoever we would get would most likely be a backup as well as it seems our core of 8 players is set.

My vote

Wing
PG
Big

Backup PG to me is essential. We basically don't have one and Ball misses a lot of games. We were F'd when Payton went down last year.

PG
Wing

Don't think we really need another big, stretch or otherwise.

Payton will be that PG backup

Curious to see if we get one more wing player

No more bigs IMO, unless hayes stays in G - League all season

I know NAW can handle the ball but I don't know how much he's going to play this year, I guess PG makes sense if we want to keep Jrue permanently off the ball. but can't Ingram Jackson Hart split some ball handling duties? a longer back up wing for Ingram would be nice.

Is Oubre still an option?

I like Payton but I don’t want anymore PGs who can’t shoot. We have enough of those.

2 days ago – via WWLTV.com NBA free agency starts Sunday, and the New Orleans Pelicans have a ton of money to spend. They’re talking to free agent point guard Elfrid Payton about returning to the team. He’s a free agent and Payton said Saturday there is interest on both sides.

He's not under contract, and he will likely get more than we can afford unless we can dump Etwaun into cap space.

I don't think he's a vet min guy.

We can have 15 players on our roster right? The rest would play for G league team in Birmingham?

Roster 15:
Jrue Holiday
Frank Jackson
Zion Williamson
Kenrich Williams
JJ Redick
Jahlil Okafor
E’twaun Moore
Jaxson Hayes
Josh Hart
Lonzo Ball
Derrick Favors
NAW
Brandon Ingram
Darius Miller
Ian Clark

So what about these 5 players?
Nicolo Melli
Dairis Bertans
Trevon Bluiett
Zylan Cheatham
Marcos Silva

Am I thinking if this correctly? What do I need to change?

Sounds like GSW needs to dump Quinn Cook. Would be a good pickup. His 2019-2020 salary is 1.5MM. Don't we still have 2MM in space?

He's a RFA, that is the QO I believe.

If anyone pays him more than 3ish million the Warriors pretty much have to let him walk. They are going to be hard-capped and need to add a bunch of minimum guys.

Jrue Holiday
Derrick Favors
JJ Redick
Zion Williamson
Lonzo Ball
E'Twaun Moore
Brandon Ingram
Jaxson Hayes
Nicolo Melli
Nickeil Alexander-Walker
Josh Hart
Frank Jackson

It seems like the team may have left enough room in the Room Exception to give Silva a guaranteed contract, but that is still up in the air.

The above are all guaranteed (well Favors will be soon). That is 12 players (could be 13 with Silva). I could see NAW and Hayes (and possibly Silva) spending time in the G-league.

Kenrich Williams
Jahlil Okafor
Christian Wood

Are all unguaranteed. One or more of those could make the roster, but I think it's unlikely that they all make it.

I don't think anyone else in your list will make the team unless the team makes a trade to free up cap space.
