Correct. There are fans that cannot get past certain things that will continuously bring down a organization and keep a small org from growing to their full potential.

1. Not trolling

2. I am against talking Lakers on this board, yet the obsession is now being in a way that people are pushing even harder to discuss the Lakers?

3. I am legit that this is even a thing in May.

I'm stupid for not wanting a team that isn't the Pels being the main engine of a Pels board. Makes sense.

For Pelicans fans, ie not you.

I do not wish to discuss the Lakers at all, though.

Here are what picks the Pelicans have in this upcoming draft (2023 draft).

-a 2023 first-round pick swap with the Los Angeles Lakers (Pels take the higher pick)

-Pels 2023 second-round pick (if it finishes in the top-45 – if it doesn’t, it goes to the Atlanta Hawks)

-the Golden State Warriors’ 2023 second-round pick

-the Charlotte Hornets’ 2023 second-round pick

Here are what picks the Pels have in next year’s draft (2024 draft).

-the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2024 first-round pick (with an option to pick their 2025 first instead)

-a 2024 first-round pick swap with the Milwaukee Bucks (Pels take the higher pick)

-the Charlotte Hornets’ 2024 second-round pick

-a 2024 second-round pick swap with the Chicago Bulls (Pels take the lower pick)

Here are what picks the Pels have in the draft the year after that (2025 draft).

-the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2025 first-round pick (if we decide not to take their 2024 pick)

-the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2025 first-round pick

For those keeping score at home, that is four first-round picks and (potentially) five second-round picks in the next three drafts.

The Lakers 2024 with right to defer is probably more valuable than all of the other picks combined.

People have had over four days to vote, and the vote is 19-17 in favor.

Thus, we will have a Lakers Offseason Thread.

We had a big thread two years ago, and we ended up getting the #8 pick from the Lakers. We had a big thread last year, and we ended up not getting the swap from the Lakers.

So, if you are superstitious, then I would say that the results are ambiguous. I'm not, but I would say to those of you who are concerned that our thread cost us the pick swap:

"Did you consider that may the problem might not have been that we had a thread, but rather that we didn't go hard enough?"

It's obviously this. It's just science!

That's the thing: this year's thread can't actually cost us anything. If the thread doesn't "work," and we don't get a high pick from the Lakers, then we simply defer the pick.

Let's give the Juju one more year. If it doesn't work this year, then I promise not to make any more Lakers threads.

If it were fake money or my money and I was a billionaire, I'd be all in on moving assets for more pieces, improving the team right now.

But knowing we aren't a tax team, have never been a tax team, and may only have 1 shot at slightly going into the tax at the most, I think we're a lot more restricted in terms of moves we can make than most think we are.

With Herb's extension coming up, I just don't really see how it's doable. I'm starting to think that we just keep Jval and let him play out the last season. I also don't think that is a doomsday scenario like many think. I just don't know how we move Jval for another $15mil ish longer term contract AND give Herb his money starting next season, I just don't see how we do that with the tax ramifications.

I'm moving closer to thinking we make zero significant moves, and honestly, that's not really a bad thing IMO.

agree with this.

so much youth... would have loved for the Pels to make the playoffs in order to get real experience in the playoffs....but a start to finish year of playing together with how its constructed can definitely fall in the 48-58 win area which I think everyone will say is successful.

Make 1 move possibly that could put them over the hump come playoff time mid season...

Yea, that's 1 caveat I should have added.

If we're actually successful and a top 3 seed or some shite and healthy(lol) at the deadline, then if we only get 1 shot to go into the tax, then f'ing go for it right then and there.
