KOBE AND DAVIS? CONSIDERED ME FAPPING
Posted on 7/30/12 at 2:36 am to tigerNation09
Are we all thinking of the selfish horrible teammate Kobe Bryant?
While Kobe is a hard worker and competitor he has always come off as a poor leader IMO.

He is a poor leader, he wants to be the GOAT which means it's all about him. Davis isn't going to turn into a selfish Kobe clone or even develop a killer instinct from this brief apprenticeship, but Davis will see just how much it takes to be the best in the league. We're talking about a guy that scored 39 with a torn tendon in his shooting hand. I wish Gordon could be there too.

I hope this doesn't mean Davis will be brought up on rape charges after we play the Nuggets next season.
no way, AD will just rat out Shaq for getting laid...

Not a huge Kobe fan but lets face it. He could have worse mentors.

Kobe mentoring Anthony Davis
I'm ok with this as long as he doesn't try to get Davis to play in LA. Maybe when Kobe gets older he'll play in NOLA.
Hey, it could happen:

It brings a tear to my eye to see my favorite player, and top 2 to ever play the game of basketball, take AD under his wing. I already had enormous respect for Kobe because of his unmatched work ethic and competitiveness, but now this is showing a different side that I have never seen.

He isn't even the best player to put on a Lakers uniform.

AD is going to be taught well:
Do work Kobe. Do work.
Do work Kobe. Do work.

I don't think there's any doubt that Team USA >>>>>>>>> Summer League
You know McMillan is keeping an eye on Davis for his protege Monty.
Also of note from this article on Davis' experience as Team USA's errand boy:

And OKC is going down
quote:
Nobody will benefit more from this experience than the Hornets, said Team USA assistant Nate McMillan, citing Davis’s opportunity to simply watch how players like Durant, James and Bryant prepare themselves for competition. Nothing can replicate that. “It’s getting him over that fear of seeing these guys for the first time,” McMillan said. “When he sees them during the regular season, it’s going to be: ‘That was my teammate.’”

“He comes in, gets his work done early in the weight room, works on different moves in the post,” Team USA forward Kevin Love said. “He doesn’t want to just shoot a jumper, and he doesn’t just want to dunk. He wants to improve his weakness, and he listens. He’s going to be a problem in the NBA.”
Assistant coach Mike D’Antoni put it this way: “He doesn’t have any flaws, other than being 19.”

Davis’s duties primarily involve retrieving Gatorade, riding in the back of the bus and warding off threats of having his unibrow forcibly removed — while he was shaking hands with President Barack Obama. For the record, he said, no one has been tougher on him than Russell Westbrook, a salty veteran at age 23.

AD is going to learn SO MUCH being around these guys. Awesome that Kobe is helping out even more.
Although I'm not really a fan of yours on the court, thanks for stepping up Kobe
