He's just trying to back pedal because he knows how much of a cry baby he sounded like last year

JJ didn't say much when Stephen A trashed us, but stepped up for us, when Stephen A was gone.

He sat there and agreed with Stephen A and said he’d have rather seen McCollum go to Philly.

Nah, JJ has never had an issue with anyone related to New Orleans besides Griff

Which is why it is weird the vitriol some fans have.

I mean the guy was still donating to hurricane relief AFTER being traded. He had no obligation to do that and most players didnt.

He's repeatedly talked about his time here in a positive light because of the guys he played with and just the other day was talking to CP3 where CP was talking about how much he would impress on guys like Zion why the grass is not always greener when you leave the organization that drafted you. About how there is a loyalty and commitment that you are unlikely to find outside of your drafted team unless you are Lebron or something, and that you may never have an organization as dedicated to building around you as your first team.

Even better, Bill Simmons just gave his seal of approval.

We can all rest easy now.

He also had the chance to stick up for Zion (who he played with and knows well) when Stephen A was just shitting on New Orleans saying Zion doesnt and has never wanted to play here. Also questioned if Zion loved basketball. JJ just stared blankly and didnt respond

JJ both said he liked it he sounded like he had to talk himself into it. He followed it up saying that the trade for the Pelicans is "fine."

Stephen A. was more questioning Zion's commitment to playing in New Orleans, and he used the phrase "one foot in and one foot out." I don't know that many can really argue against that, Zion has seemed all in some days and zoned out other days. And, yeah, if your star player you're building around isn't obviously two feet in then it become a problem. Opinions now don't really matter though. Zion will be happy or not depending how well or poorly the team plays when everyone is together. At that point we can more accurately judge his attitudes.

Was he? I only saw the clip where racist Stephen A Smith said he hated CJ coming here.
