Lmao at the idea of taking Morant over Zion. You clearly haven't watched much Zion, if you would take any other prospect in the last 5 years over him.

You’d take Zion over Embiid?

lol - without question?

I’d love Zion and think he’d be fun as hell to watch, but what makes you think he’s going to be the MVP candidate Embiid is?

KAT is a fair question

He is a true freshman and has the highest PER in college basketball history. Think about that.

More so than Embiid?

And if I’m drafting Zion, I’d hope he’s putting together better results than KAT has.

This line of thought makes no sense. You'd rather the 3rd pick of the 2014 draft that basically didn't play for the first 2 years of his career?

You know who has the third best PER in college basketball history? Kelly Olynyk.

So I don’t think that stat translates particularly well to the NBA.

I’m saying that I think Embiid today is probably better than Zion will ever be. That’s not a knock on Zion, who I think will be just fine as a pro. I just think Embiid is incredible.

I think he means as a prospect coming out of college. But yes, I am more impressed with Zion than Embiid or KAT.

Check out this take on Zion from 247:
quote:

Forget the dunking — as spectacular as it is — for a minute. From a statistical perspective, Williamson is one of the best college players we’ve seen since advanced metrics began measuring college basketball players. The 6-foot-7, 285-pound Williamson has the highest Player Efficiency Rating in college basketball history, and his numbers go into the absurd when they’re projected over 40 minutes. Those per-40 numbers? 31.6 points, 14.1 rebounds. 3.4 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.8 blocks. Those last three numbers are important, because while everybody knew Williamson could score and rebound, he’s shown the vision and ability to make the tough pass and he’s emerged as one of the biggest impact defenders in the nation.

KAT is way too passive.

Comparing Zion to Kelly Olynyk is blasphemy. Zion is clearly the most dominant player in the country, Olynyk never was close to that.

I'm just just pointing out that Zion is so much more than the "big, athletic dunker" that some fans thought he was gonna be, once he faced real competition.

The intangibles for Zion put it over the top for me. I haven't seen a guy this focused, mature, passionate, yet humble since.....honestly, I don't know when. Meanwhile, Embiid is too cavalier. Also, quick to criticize the organization or a coach. Wants to win twitter battles as much as he wants to win games.

I have watched Zion in nearly every game this year and I don't care about dunks or highlights. Never have. I love this kid because of all those intangibles. Like, imagine Draymond passion and intelligence but with Barack Obama as a baseline temperament, compassion, and humility. This kid is so special in ways that stats can't measure.

you brought up PER. Clearly you think it’s important.

Well, if it’s an impressive tool to measure Zion, the same would apply to Kelly Olynyk.

Avg 18+ then 25+ first two years out of college real young. That’s pretty special. KAT has desired size and that modern day game. I’m just saying it’s fair to ponder

Glad someone else on here can see and appreciate how rare and special this kid is, on and off the court
