Like, imagine Draymond passion and intelligence but with Barack Obama as a baseline temperament, compassion, and humility.

Mac, always the entertainer.

For the record, I love Zion. I just don’t think he’s going to be as good as Embiid currently is. Fair ciriticisms of Embiid. I’ll wait to see if those characteristics for Zion translate as well to the nba as they currently do in college.

You are talking about skill. Basketball.

I don't know if anybody on the planet can match Embiid when it comes to that. But he does not bring a locker room together. Nor does he lead them. Nor will he make his teammates smarter or galvanize them after a 4 game losing streak.

There is so much more to a team sport than talent, skill, production. I would take Zion over Embiid or KAT because while they are 10% better than him in the tangibles, he is 200% better in the intangibles.

Hes very special. But if him and Ben Simmons were in the same draft, I think most teams would take Simmoms.

Again, I’ll believe it when I see it when it comes to these intangibles translating to the NBA. I agree he certainly looks the part now, though.

No way. You will read come draft time that the debate will be: Is Zion the best prospect since AD or since Lebron?

I guarantee that will be the debate. And most will say he is the best prospect since Lebron, citing that he showed more offense than AD in college.

It is important when looking at a prospect like Zion, who most people thought just dunked alot. They didnt expect his game to be this advanced at this age.

Kelly Olynkyk is the the opposite kind of player.

Yea, because hes the current thing. But one player comparison is LeBron James. The other player comparison is Charles Barkley. A team wouldnt draft a 6'6 PF over Ben Simmons.

He's a 6'8 player that can play SF or PF and he is the best prospect since Lebron.

Maybe, but coming out of college and all players being in the same draft, I think AD, Dwight Howard, Greg Oden and Simmons would go before him.

I can't believe how caught up people get on Zion's height. Its like they are so desperate to find a flaw that they get hung up on that without citing any real reason why it matters

Exactly. He's still an elite rebounder and shot-blocker. His athleticism and length make his height a non-issue.

I agree 100%, but not all scouts/ nba decision makes feel the same way.

There is a reason someone like Hasheem Thabeet gets drafted over a James Harden.

I can't follow what the debate is here.

So, you're saying that some people in the NBA are dumb and make mistakes, so they might not value Zion that high?

Okay, whatever. That doesn't matter to me. I can't speak for others and I don't really care. I am saying that he is my favorite prospect since Lebron. Yes, I like him more than I liked AD and I called AD a hybrid of David Robinson and Hakeem when he came out.

Im not against Zion. I love him. Im just saying the players listed would go over Zion in a draft today based on size relative to their positions.

Zion wasnt even the #1 player in his highschool class. If zion was able to enter the draft out of highschool, do you believe he would go over Dwight Howard if the scenarios were the same? Dwight would dominate college just like Zion is doing.

I don't know the answer to that question and we never will. It's unknowable. And I don't really care that much. I just watched a bunch of teams pass on Luka because he was a white Euro, so you could be right. But that means nothing to me. I love the kid and hope he is a Pelican in a few months.
