I think Zion is very close to being that guy. We are so fricking close. We just need to grow and for Lavar to STFU.

Its probably going to take 1 more offseason after this upcoming offseason to put together a roster that will allow Williamson to be the defacto closer. Without adequate spacing, it's tough for Zion to close with the ball in his hands night in and night out especially once teams adjust and double him on the perimeter.

This thread almost makes me want Draymond... and and fricking HATE draymond

I could see Kemba as that guy again in the right spot. A lot of Boston’s players have had trouble being that role because Brown, Tatum, Kemba are all kinda that guy. And like they say, if you have 2 QB’s you have no QB’s.
That’s be probably the most available guy of that mold I could think of. A gamble though as he hasn’t looked the same guy post Charlotte.

Kemba’s contract is a little tough, but I think he would work, especially if we move on from Zo.

People think kemba is better than lonzo ?
Imagine Eric Bledsoe given free range to chuck. That is Kemba

Spencer Dinwiddie can be that guy..

I like Dinwiddie, but he’s a career 32% three point shooter, that ain’t getting it done on a team with Zion and Adams starting.
Dinwiddie’s strongest skillset scoring would be harmed, and both our best players would be easier to double and triple.
It’s not a good fit tbh

I disagree. The guy is clutch. Go look up “Spencer Dinwiddie clutch or threes.” They got so many videos of it.
He did it against spurs, Rockets, Detroit...etc.
Even if he is a 32% career shooter, he makes them when the team needs it.

Spencer Dinwiddie clutch stats 19-20:
39% FG
8% 3P
75% ft
25asts
16 Turnovers
Cherry picked highlights are a poor way to judge a player’s overall clutch ability.
Like I said, I like Dinwiddie in a vacuum. Loved to watch those scrappy Nets teams, but he’s not the right fit for Ingram and Zion if we are stuck with Adams for three years.
It would be the same problem I warned everyone about with Bled/Zo backcourt, it’s just not a complimentary duo. You can’t have three non-shooters on the court in the modern NBA. Let alone when your two best players absolutely need spacing, and the guy you want to pair them with does as well.

He was one of the most clutch players in 2017-2018
Where do you find these stats at if you don’t mind me asking. If those are his stats, my apologies. Just seem to me that almost every game I watch of him, he was pretty clutch.
Another reason why I like Spencer is because he is a vet, well spoken, know his role, confident, players rave about his work ethic, his defense..but most important his leadership. I think with us, he can be better than a 32% 3 shooter.
Plus he won’t break the bank on us. He is probably cheaper than Lonzo also.

NBA.com has synergy tracking stats for all sorts of stuff, including clutch stats(default is defined as 5 point score difference in 5 minutes or less)
Them and Cleaning the Glass are probably the best statistics sites IMO unless you just go out and get a full blown synergy subscription.
This is Dinwiddie for 17-18:

And I think an important question that you’d need to ask for Dinwiddie is, are you truly wanting to take the ball out of Zion’s hands in the clutch going forward? Because that’s sort of where this leads to.
Like I said, I really, really like Dinwiddie. Loved watching him on those scrappy Nets, I’m just not personally convinced he’s the right direction to go for our long-term fix because I don’t know that anyone is optimally off with the lack of spacing that all three of them ideally need.

People will scoff, but I think Rondo would be a good leadership fit for this team. AD and Jrue were a lot more locked in when Rondo was around to make them watch film and demand greatness from themselves.
I wouldn’t say no to Draymond either. This team is extremely soft and 90% of them don’t seem like they mind losing much. We need someone to come in here to make people uncomfortable and hold them accountable.

Ah thank you! But the thing is he know his role. He’s not going to get the ball out of Zion hands but relieve him. I think he is more of being the floor general and putting players at the right position.
Player rave about his leadership and alpha mentality so that’s why I want him.

Everyone hates Green. But if he is on your team, you be ecstatic. He does all the grunt/dirty work and is all about the team and not him. I don’t think Warriors are going to move him though, those guys are hard to find.

The best complimentary guy I think for this is Zach Lavine. But will he go here though? I chose Dinwiddie because he won’t break the bank, is used to Trajan and is close with NAW
