It was in the play in against the Lakers, right?

I don't think his fg% is that impressive, especially since he rarely shoots jumpers or 3s. It's all layups, floaters and dunks..

4th Option on a title team, yes

You have to take into account his 55 missed games a year and the fact that he will play 20 of 30 of his games out of shape

Also have to take into account that he’s a 2 point player in a 3 ball era. A lot of Zion highlights end at the 3/4 min mark of the game bc he can’t consistently manufacture a basket inside the paint down the stretch. He’s tired, he loses his handle, the defense stiffens, the refs don’t blow their whistle.

He’s a 4th Option on an actual winning team

I’m not convinced that he is a better winning basketball player than Jrue or Derrick White on the Celtics.

For fans maybe, not for front offices. Just look at last night. His gravity is impactful and makes everything else work. Unless Zion has enough trade value to bring back another high gravity player, you aren’t going to get better by trading him.

What’s the gravitational forces like on the bench for half of each season?

21 points, 4 assists, 7 rebounds, 20 PER, shooting 45%. Most would think that’s BI stats, but those numbers are what Zion is averaging this year. Low level all star numbers, not best player on a contending team numbers.

Not as dumb and dishonest as suggesting he can average 30,8,8 on 62% and win an MVP

There is no truth to that unfortunately

In his career, how many times has he shot under 50%?

Last season, in a bad year, he still shot 58%.

But 7 games is enough of a sample size to say this is the norm lmao.

frick outta here dawg

Of course, Zion is not a lost cause, that's just harsh. On the other hand, he has managed to squander half his career (no playoff appearances). At a minimum Pels finally need to put the rose-colored glasses away and evaluate from a team standpoint. Zion is an elite talent but not someone you build a team around (save that for Steph or Jokic), but still nonetheless a very valuable piece to a contender. Like that Pels have him playing off-ball more since his return which should have been the plan from day one. He does not have to have the ball in his hands to thrive.

How is it dishonest? Zions points and shooting percentage have gone done every year since 2020. Would you consider that several years of being injured and not working out in the offseason have hurt his game? He was good last year but not all nba good, and he looks a little worse this year than last year.

He’s got a 6 year sample size of being a loser player that has never even been available for a playoff game

He’s galaxies away from being an MVP in the NBA

I don’t even think he could be an MVP in the Australian Basketball League due to his availability issues.

Imagine Zion trying to pull his BS on a Kobe Team. He would have gotten his teeth knocked out at practice.
