It’s a shame. We had some serious momentum building. People were finally starting to buy into this team. That’s all gone now. There will probably be an uptick in attendance once Zion comes back and the saints/lsu season is over. But in the mean time it’s still just going to be the same old half empty arena vibe that it’s always been

The worst thing is it is injury that derailed it ... which is the same thing that has derailed the hype train since CP3

Yes the offseason hype is gone. Evaporated.

No Zion, 1-5, not playing any defense, poor coaching, losing.

It’s over until mid December when Zion comes back, and that’ll last a few games, and then it’ll be over again until LSU and Saints postseasons are over. Then need to build and start winning some games at that point when people are vaguely paying attention.

Win 2-3 games and the hype will re-engage.
Fans are still here.

Threads like these are moronic. New Orleans will never be a rabid basketball town. But the same can be said for 75% of the NBA. Only a few core cities are outliers.

The franchise isn't going to live or die based on the first few months of a new era of basketball under Griffin. There's plenty of talent on this team, even without Zion, to keep the casual fan interested in the on-the-court product.

I got downvoted to oblivion but this is why you let Zion start the season.

Limit his minutes, monitor his knee, but the decision to have the surgery now killed all the momentum.

The Pelicans will attract a moderate reliable following when the franchise Is competive on a regular basis And wins enough to
Be a somewhat regular playoff team. It’s been the same Way since the Hornets arrived.

Give this team 2 seasons and we will be a consistent winner and potential NBAF team.
