He's talking about Perkins. Why are you acting like he is not on their roster?

Why are you acting like he's playing basketball? He's injured, and until he is active and on the court, there is no good center on their team

He's out 2-3 weeks, not the entire season.

after the new CBA is finalized (not true, every bit of info indicates that it will decrease substantially, in addition to a hard cap being instituted).
If a hardcap is put in AND the cap reduces "substantially", I'll perma ban myself, lol.
Zero chance of that happening.

Garbage trade. it is what it is

Exactly, which is what I meant by misinformation.

The Thunder give up their second (third?) best forward for the one piece they really needed. Ibaka, Thabo, and Harden will more than make up for that production.
GARBAGE.
GARBAGE.

They definitely won't make the Lakers blow themselves up, but I can see them making rules to keep them from being recreated elsewhere. The real reason salaries have gone crazy has been because the Bird rule, which was intended to be like a franchise tag of sorts, is being used on non franchise players. I think we're likely to see reduced exceptions as much as anything. Something like only having one Bird contract at a time. Maybe they come up with a Rudy Gay Rule that is for a smaller amount than the Bird rule.

I'll wait until that happens. It's a garbage trade to me anyway. We aren't going to agree on it so, it is what it is

esp. with no real big man,
while perkins may be out for 3-4 weeks (back in time for the playoffs, they did get nazr mohammed, too

You put Perkins in there instead of Green. A guy that doesn't ever leave the lane as compared to a guy who can atleast Be a threat from 18 feet.
and a guy who can't defend 4s or rebound at an elite level

naw
the real reason salaries have increased (they really haven't. you don't have the knicks/mavs' $120M payrolls anymore) is the mid-level exception

why?
the thunder needed big, defensive bangers. they got a REALLY good one in perkins, and then topped it off with insurance by acquiring nazr
they essentially traded for a better version of emeka okafor, for hornetards to comprehend

because perkins is out, he's injured, and when has nazr mohammed been a guy you even talk about his abilities? And perkins is a okay player, pretty decent on D..
We aren't going to agree on this

Perkins is more than pretty decent defensively. He's beaten up LA's bigs before, which is what the Thunder need, and he's one of the best guys in the league at handling Howard.

he'll likely be back by the playoffs, which is what matters. plus he's not dying after this year or anything

he's a big banger-type. nobody is saying he's jesus
and he'll be a backup banger-type when perkins comes back

he's the best man-defender at the 5 in the NBA. he's the pau/bynum frustrator
if perkins is ok, do you think okafor is below-average?
Posted on 2/27/11 at 12:28 pm to SlowFlowPro
Yeah, Perkins is definitely > than Okafor. Silly to suggest otherwise, IMO.
I'm on the fence on the trade for the Thunder.
I hadn't considered the impact of losing Green as another perimeter threat and now having the lane clogged (they've been a shitty 3 point shooting team for a while now).
My thought was that it was a great move for the Thunder pending Perkins health, which seems to be a major question mark IMO.
