'm on the fence on the trade for the Thunder.

I hadn't considered the impact of losing Green as another perimeter threat and now having the lane clogged (they've been a shitty 3 point shooting team for a while now).

My thought was that it was a great move for the Thunder pending Perkins health, which seems to be a major question mark IMO.

This is basically what I'm saying.... I guess my dislike of Perkins gets in the way of calling him good in any way

but this trade will have effects for the next 3-4 years

garbage 3 point specialists are a dime a dozen to buy in the offseason. and harden will develop

jeff green was a 30.8% 3PT shooter hitting 1 a game. harden is at 36.8% and hits more per game with green on the team

they didn't exactly trade dorrell wright

right... i'm not too worried about their long term ability to shoot 3s, because like you said, dime a dozen. you can always find a specialist.

but i've seen a lot of people say this makes the thunder the team to beat in the west. i'm not sure i'd agree.

it does improve them (i think) if Perk is healthy, but whether or not he's healthy both now and in the future are major question marks it seems.

the thunder were not winning a title as constructed. name the last team to win a title without a good defensive/rebounding big

they made a move to trade a piece they didn't need to majorly upgrade in not only their weakest link, but a super important variable in the playoffs.

assuming nobody dies, they're the favorites in the west next year, and possibly for the next 4-5 years

just getting nazr, imho, makes them the #2 team behind the spurs RIGHT now

the lakers are crumbling and aging, and bynum is a bigger injury worry than perkins

the mavs are not built to win in the playoffs, even with chandler playing out of his mind. westbrook will bend kidd over and arse frick him

Like the cowboys are the faves every year in th NFL, I still don't see it, they are a up and down team...

you think nazr and pekins are built for running up and down that court?

Edit: well since you put it that way they may just be up there in the west. I still say we can beat them though

Perkins isn't going to slow them down any more than Nenad Krstic did.

the thunder don't run all the time. if westbrook gets out in the open court, it's over, but they're a defensive/iso team offensively when he's not doing that

highly doubtful

i saw a stat that actually said perkins is one of the better centers in running the floor by some metric.

wow, okay then.

and slowflo I'm not going through all that, I say we still can beat them, so it is what it is

you must be expecting me to say they're a great team now because of the trade? I didn't say they were before the trade

Durant's a alright three point shooter, harden is pretty good too. Westbrook? Nah, Green made some, who else is shooting them, its not just the percentage, its the presence he can command because you know he'll shoot them

We could run out a D league team with NOLA on the front and you'd think we could beat them

it's not that good

1 player can create his own shot, and he's the facilitator

no brutes in the front court

2 black holes on offense
