No you can't. Don't try to act like you are omniscient. No one knows how it will turn out either way. I really don't like the trade, but only a fool argues in absolutes.

You probably think CP3 put in 100% effort last season too

The Cavs don't seem to be doing so hot after the LeBron situation, and if the NBA won't let us trade CP3 I don't see how our situation would be any different. We are lacking in talent as much as they were.

What is he? 6-10? close enough

He's listed at 6'10" which means he's probably 6'8". Even at 6'10", he makes Dirk look like Shaq. He plays extremely soft. He's too slow to be a great SF and too small and soft to be a great PF.

well they did get overpriced talent around him, so when he left, they just had the aging/expensive players

I'm sorry. Kevin Martin and Luis Scola are going to change that.

Nah man, everyone will be dying to go to a franchise with no owner, no star player, and in a city that might lose its NBA team with little fan support if they suck.

they're good players who actually fit with our other pices (good foils for okafor and ariza)

Well Ariza and Okafor are pretty expensive and they won't be worth a frick with no talented players around them. At least with the proposed trade we would get expensive players who can score without superstars helping them.

Actually, Houston traded Ariza for Courtney Alexander because he didnt fit with Martin.

And you are certainly 100% wrong in that guestimation. However, we have a perfect opportunity to go into 2 years of free agency with a clean slate to work with knowing that we don't need to waste time on Paul, unlike the Cavs who built their team under the assumption Lebron was coming back.

Look, there were bad contracts in this trade that would have been a problem at some point. When I heard we might be sending Oak's contract, I felt a little better, but we would still be overcommitting our future flexibility to aging players.

Realistically, what premier players WANT to come to NOLA?

Could be different in Monty's system, though. I would say that we could wait and see but Stern is a twat.

Didn't CP3 try to talk to Melo about possibly joining up here and Melo pretty much laughed at him about that notion? I could've sworn I heard a small rumor about that last year.

We're not getting any elite players either way. Who is premier? Kevin Martin? Odom? Scola? Or are you planning to get a premier player with that 22nd pick from the Knicks?

We could go after the individual pieces to build our team and do it at our price in FA. We wouldn't have to take on anyone else's bad contracts.

that was when ariza was channeling his inner tracy mcgrady, though

martin is a ballhog who is highly efficient and shoots/hits a lot of FTs. ariza is a defensive player who doesn't touch the ball much on offense

Melo and his little slut are obsessed with the big city lights.
