Of course it’s unrealistic. That’s the purpose of a hypothetical question.... in the hypothetical scenario posed he doesn’t get hurt he stays healthy.. in this hypothetical scenario he is willing to take the vet minimum.

All your points you are trying to make are moot in a hypothetical discussion. When you figure out what hypothetical means I’d be happy to have this conversation with you.

The hypothetical ends after you sign him when he is healthy... Everything after that is your own "hypothetical"

Hypothetically we can sign him when he is healthy and then hypothetically he will become a cancer in the locker room and get injured. frick off

No the question was posed if healthy would you sign him. Not if boogie gets healthy and then gets hurt would you sign him? Read the post. Quit arguing semantics. I’m trying to talk ball

And hypothetically I wouldn't sign a 30 y/o center who is injury prone, on the down side of his career, and is a locker room problem. Its not a hypothetical saying he's never been injured before and won't get injured right??? Cause in this hypothetical if he is healthy NOW that doesn't mean shite to me when he has several major past injuries and isn't a great fit on our roster. You aren't trying to talk ball lol.

I’ve already addressed all the points you’ve tried to make in this thread except for your non understanding of this scenario. If you want to change the hypothetical scenario go make your own thread. You guys don’t have a backup center so any center is a good fit on your roster... if you’d rather go into the season with just Hayes as a 5 I don’t agree with that but I guess I could see a small ball lineup style working with Zion in the picture.

I said they don’t want Boogie to take minutes AND shots from other players. That includes more than just the 5 position, as every shot Boogie takes (and he’s going to take them) is one less shot for Ingram and Zion. I also expect that the “Zion at the 5” experiment is going to get some run again next year, which means even less available minutes. The perfect 5 for the team is someone who will play D, rebound, stretch the floor, and (most importantly) defer to the younger players.

I agree that the roster is not set yet, but even then I don’t see how Boogie would fit in their future plans or bring other value to this team. There are a handful of options that will be above Boogie that the Pels can try for. Not counting obvious and unlikely options like Gasol, Ibaka, Turner, or Wood, the second tier guys like Baynes, Robin Lopez, Leonard, or Olynyk are all potential options that would fit better than Boogie. That’s not even mentioning that they have Favors’ Bird Rights. He probably won’t get much more than the MLE, so at the very least he’ll be back before they sign Boogie.

So that means they’ll really only have Jah’s minutes to give. That 3rd big spot will be used to take a flier on a young player or on a veteran big with team leadership skills. Guys like John Henson, Tyson Chandler, Alex Len also fit the profile of a 3rd, low minute big that this team needs more than Boogie. I’m not even counting other useful bigs that can be obtained from crowded front courts like Khem Burch, or guys taken in the draft.

The point it is, if you actually look at this team and understand where they want to go next year, there is just no way Boogie makes sense.

And what I'm trying to say is that Okafor and another rookie, or 2 rookies, or another vet C would all workout better than Cousins in the long run. I'd rather go into the season with Hayes starting at the 5 if we really did nothing and were thinking about Cousins. We have had several players that didn't really leave this team on great terms or the best intentions and I don't want any of them back. And once again I'm not sure if Cousins would take a vet min for the Pels. He isn't that guy. If he takes a vet min it will be for a contending team or he will try to get more from other teams.

Respect for the Burch drop.. and thank you for not including anything much higher then the MLE for favors

I have no problem with your thought process or conclusion. Well explained. He would take more shots then wanted by the team. I personally don’t like the Zion at 5 notion so I was kind of making my point as if he wasn’t playing 5. I was also going from the mindset of the roster we have now vs potential additions. So yes sure if all that happens I’d be cool. Don’t really like any of the guys you mentioned at 3rd string.. but it’s 3rd string so how much production would boogie really provide at that spot.

If things don’t work out like you explain I still think he’s a nice 12-15th man on the roster at a minimum (IF HEALTHY). If he has a good season on a vet min chances are you could get a draft asset or two on trade deadline for him from a contender.

But you don’t have any of those guys on your roster next season.... and yeah people leave bad teams it happens. Divorce isn’t pretty. Don’t be a sourpuss about it. Dwight Howard left LA in horrible terms. Came back and won a championship this year.

If we are going after a player our team had a divorce with, I’d rather that player be Christian Wood.

Actual remaining upside and can still play at a high level.

Cousins is a shell of himself and is not the right type of character we need on this team right now.

Couple million dollar difference in expected contracts there. But yes obviously Christian wood if it was economically equal. Have you seen cousins play lately?? Or are you just assuming he’s a shell of himself?

15 ppg is nothing??? For a team with no center I’d take that in a heart beat.

Of course he was in Davis ears to leave. You guys as fans admit that your management has been shite for a really long time. The majority of your franchise history actually. Management didn’t get fixed soon enough so why wouldn’t he leave. Y’all can’t say management is horrible we can’t win or build a team and then have spite for people advising AD to leave. Can’t have it both ways.

Guarantee you ive been to more pelicans games the last 5 Years then you.
You seem to change your story with each post like a true troll. I asked you how he did for the Lakers since you claimed he was so instrumental for both teams. He did not average 15 ppg for Lakers. You want to bet on how many more Pelicans games you have been to? I have been a full STH since the day the team moved to New Orleans.

He didn’t even suit up for the lakers.. the last time he played in a season he averaged 15 ppg. So if you look at his last season in the NBA he averaged 15ppg. Again don’t know why people are trying to argue objective stats and semantics. Look it up. Congratulations on paying for countless seasons of wasted opportunity. I don’t care how many seasons you’ve had season tickets. Point was to establish that I’m not just some alien who hasn’t ever seen the pelicans play when I watch them in person.

So you live in Dallas and watch more Pelicans games in person than a STH?

You are the one that made the comment that the last 2 teams Cousins was a part of won the title. I know he did not suit up for Lakers, so not sure how he contributed to their title run. Irrelevant.

The point being made was that he was neither poisonous nor a bad teammate so I brought up his former teams success to prove that. Congratulations on being a season ticket holder and being utterly clueless about your own team. What else do you want me to say? My apologies for not being able to distinguish a season ticket holder by their uneducated and ridiculous statements on the internet. I figured someone posting such erroneous thoughts surely couldn’t watch them 41 games a year..

I’d Def give him a shot. He gave us a lot and because of injuries and because of Gentrys trash arse system & not adjusting at all for a system suitable to having Jrue Holiday and Next Twin Towers the stats Demarcus & AD put up in that short amount of time had the potential of being great. Why would you run a 7sec system shoot ball shoot 3s instead slow it down Pick &!Roll? I feel bad for boogie because we ruined his career. We had 2 guys on team that was giving us 40 & 20. If I could get him for $3mil put him next Zion. He def can space floor
