Well I was thinking about big and tall. Not just a big guy.

I was trying to think of people Smiht couldn't guard. I think some length can make up for not having some of the bulk; however, some guys like Bynum are just huge.

The bigs in the West are big and skilled. Jason Smith is going to have a lot of trouble guarding starting 5s. Mahinimi too.. He's going to foul out in the first half if he has to guard guys like the Gasol bros.

I know people are going to laugh, but id seriously like to bring in Thabeet on the cheap and see what he can do.

supposedly he's a guy who just didn't care. got paid and didn't work. maybe getting off that rookie contract will entice him. a $2M partially guaranteed contract couldn't hurt

What about Oden? Why not give him a try at least?

Pretty sure he had another microfracture which puts him on the shelf for all of next year.

If we sign him, we would probably only be asking him to play that 20-25 minute per game role. Like how I pointed out earlier how SAS used Nesterovic and Oberto.

His foul rate is alarming, but as long as he is using his big body down low to prevent lay-ups and protecting the basket (although he is not a great shot blocker) then I have no problem of him using those 6 fouls up.

Well we don't want someone fouling too much consistently in a short period of time. That might lead to putting the other team consistently in the bonus early in quarters. Just speculating though.

Gray left NO for Toronto, and he did it pretty quickly. I'm not saying he necessarily left on bad terms, but I don't think he appreciated losing so many minutes to Mbenga. He spent about as much time in Monty's "dog house" as Thornton.
