The question with Trey is can he be more than a role player? A lot of people are penciling him in as Ingram's replacement, and while that may end up being what technically happens, I'm not sure Trey is a 25ppg scorer.

Yes he has the physical tools and skills to become a scorer, but he wasn't that guy in college and hasn't shown he's that guy in the pros yet. If you asked me to bet today on who is averaging more points in 2-3 years, Trey or Hawkins, I'd say Hawkins, assuming both are starting.

There is nothing wrong with Trey becoming "just" an elite role player. If he's more than that the league is probably in trouble because he has the tools and skills to be great.

Do you not remember Trey's end to last year when we were fighting for the playoffs?

His last 19 games he averaged 20 points on 51/45/90
and that's while only taking 13 shots a game. Thats damn elite. Feed him more shots and he could easily get to 25

Trey and Hawkins on the outside will be lethal moving forward. It was only a matter of time for him to have this game. His effort is 110 percent because he’s a winner with a winning attitude, something this team needs more of. But he looks like he will be a decent defender too. If Trey brings the same attitude, this will eventually be his team if he continues growing his game. While playoff BI is a stud, we need more complete players. I think there’s a good chance we make some moves at the deadline if things don’t sync up better as the season progresses but either way, we look to have hit on some recent picks to have flexibility.

Trey and Hawkins

The team needed to pull a rabbit out of its hat to pair Trey with a second elite shooter, and they may have done so with the Hawkins pick.

Lot of pessimism on the board to start the season, but it can’t be overstated how important it is for a small market team to find legit players in the middle of the first round.

Hawkins just passes the eye ball test of looking like he belongs in an nba rotation 7 games into his career. It’s exciting.

I remember this. The question is can you put the ball in his hands to make the plays or he is the wing guy who is elite at being a wing role player? That is yet to be seen. I love him on the outside, but his ball handling and finishing inside of 20 feet is still undetermined when teams can run him off the 3 and have a second line of defense

Prior to the pick, you were the only one who mentioned him/wanted him. You can have some props for that I stayed out of the thread because I wasn't keeping up with that draft class like I normally do.

I've been big on Hawk since the pick but more recently as the season started. You can just tell he has that winning attitude and looks ready now. His shot is so smooth and quick with no hesitation. Just seems to play hard and smart and does everything relatively well. I really think he's going to be a stud and probably one of the best players from his draft overall. If Wemby avoids injuries, he's going to be in his own echelon of different type of player the league has ever seen.

Haha I love Treys game, but we’re on year 3 and haven’t seen this type of play from him or anyone on this team in the last 10 years

I’m sorry, what? I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you have a bad memory.
