I'd praise if he didn't shoot it at all.
He sucks at them, and always has. 29% this year, 32% the year before, 21% before that and 30% before that. It's a bad shot for him.

Maybe he needed to work on that shot, and that's what he's been doing, and maybe now it's a good shot for him?

It's just so patronizing to the fans, but more importantly to Zion
And you can see it on these boards, fans are conditioned to set the bar really low for Zion.

Lately, I hear about how Zion is trying on defense now. Is he? Or is he just trying more than the zero effort from earlier? He's still constantly the last one up the court over and over.

He's too good to not expect more.

You say that but do you pay attention to who he is guarding?

His conditioning is trash. Dude was absolutely sucking air on the sideline micd up and could barely get a sentence out when he was talking to Jose.

He was at the foul line sucking air late in the mavs game when we needed a ft and I told my wife it's gonna be short and sure enough, it's short.

Zion is clearly working out. I don't doubt that. He's obviously not changed his diet at all.

Wow, you can tell everything about his diet from your couch watching TV?

Yes, the answer is no one. He's guarding no one.

You see, if you're the last dude up the court, you're guarding no one, and your team is playing 4 on 5.

Surely you're not trying to say that doesn't happen much with Zion...

Surely, you're not trying to say Zion is in the requisite shape he should be in and just as in shape as everyone else on the team...

I'm saying no one can tell what he eats or if it is different from what he ate previously from his couch. So many know it alls on this board.

Watched him mirror his man up the court while people were bitching that he was not hustling back up court.

Do you think he's changed his diet? At all? Or do you think he's just busting it in the gym and putting it all back with shite diet? I know the answer.

One post you say there's too many know it alls on this board and your very next post you try to tell people they're wrong for thinking there's an issue with the lack of hustle Zion shows getting back on defense.

It's not like zion doesn't hustle at all during games, but what's the percentage of him running back after a miss layup? 20%? 30%

Hes always behind transition plays after a missed layup, which is just natural and happens to any player, but he stares at the refs because he got fouled (which is true most of the time), and it's killing our defense.

- Lastly, AD talked about how this time of year was so hard with trade rumors, etc. Griff said it's not hard and he likes it because they are a family and they all want to get better. Used Kira as an example. They loved him but this trade gives him a better opportunity because we have so much depth (yeah, Griff and the whole luxury tax thing, haha).

I'll give it to Griff

He is a master bullshite ARtist

Right, spot on

It's odd that someone would argue that doesn't happen regularly.

My hope is that by after the Break Zion is in prime condition.

And he has learned his fricking lesson to STAY in condition.

It's irrational to expect him to cut during the nba season when his body needs the calories.

But during the break is what scares me the most. He can absolutely fast/extreme cut in a week and drop 5-10 lbs, but let's be real. The odds of that happening are....slim to none.

Obviously I don't mean this literally, but I noticed this morning that we have 3 days off after tonight's game, and my first thought was..."I wonder how much Zion may get out of shape in those 3 days"

We're just scarred, man!!

I just don't understand how it's physically possible that a dude in his 20's playing a professional sport that involves lots of cardio can lose his fitness gains in so little time.

He won't be able to push his limits and improve his cardio with the minute distribution and the scheduled substitution patterns. Just won't be possible.

They're prioritizing his health over conditioning. This concerns me because he's not going to be able to play playoff minutes at this rate. There's no way he's going to be able to play 38-39 minutes a game in the playoffs.

Right, we don't appear to be ramping up his minutes.

Over the last 14 games, he's under 30mpg...that's pretty crazy.

Last 7 games, he's only hit 30 minutes twice.

There's some blowouts in there, sure. That may skew it a bit, but I thin the overriding point still stands.
