If he didn't want a long term deal with NOLA, he wouldn't have agreed to the deal with Phoenix. The agreement with Phoenix negates the possibility of him signing a QO, correct?

Are we really still playing this game? I think EG's position on where he wants to play is pretty clear.
He hasn't said anything directly about not wanting to play in New Orleans. Until you can provide some sort of direct quote stating that then I will not believe it.

Let him go then. I don't want a player that doesn't want to be here, that is cancer to a team.
Huh? Why let him go when we could at least sign and trade him and get some pretty decent pieces back? And even though I'm not happy with his comment, it's a pretty big leap from that to him acting like a huge bitch in NOLA while he makes $14m/yr.

SO, leave a team with a very bright future for a team with nothing?
Gortat is pretty damn good and they some other OK players on the roster.

you were definitely saying that if NOLA matched he could just sine one year tender

The signing of a sheet does. It's still possible as of know he takes the QO. Highly unlikely though. He also could throw a bitch fit and demand a trade too if he really hates Nola.

He can choose to play for one year in NOLA for the 5 mill and become an URFA after this season if he doesn't want a long term deal with NO.
Once he signs the offer sheet with Phoenix, he can't just decide he wants to sign the QO. If/when he signs the Phx offer that's it, Hornets match and its over

A lot of people are downplaying these quotes. They were a liitle too much IMO for a pr move. Doesn't bode well for the Hornets. Hopefully the team can change his mind.

I remember so many folks holding on to hopes for Chris Paul because he never DIRECTLY said he wanted out...
With that said the Hornets are in the driver's seat to keep. They just have to make sure he's not pissed off.

Like I said, winning changes everything. If Davis is the real deal and Phoenix is in the lottery while we're in the playoffs then he should have no reason to want to leave.

Alex Kennedy ?@AlexKennedyNBA
As I wrote last week, if Eric Gordon wants out of New Orleans, the Hornets will try to do a sign-and-trade rather than letting him walk.

New Orleans can match Phoenix's offer sheet, but the Hornets don't want Eric Gordon back if he wants out. They'll look at sign-and-trade.

I really don't give a shite what he says. If he signs the offer sheet he knows we are matching it and he's here for 4 years.
If he really wanted to never play here, then he would sign his 1 yr. qualifer and play it out.
Really think there is nothing to see here.... I just wish he'd keep his mouth shut.

From the ESPN article:
"After visiting the Suns, the impression the organization made on me was incredible," Gordon told ESPN.com. "Mr. (Robert) Sarver, Lon Babby, Lance Blanks, the Front Office Staff and Coach (Alvin) Gentry run a first-class organization, and I strongly feel they are the right franchise for me. Phoenix is just where my heart is now."

Two recent top picks and 1 or 2 1st from a shitty team especially when love leaves why not? If he doesn't want to be here then piss him off more send him to a place he'll hate.

The phrase "New Orleans" isn't in that quote at all. I guess Monty and Dell just made up those comments about how Gordon said he wouldn't mind coming back to NOLA?
Or how about the Gordon quote where he said that "basketball is basketball, it doesn't matter where you play"?

no I mean if he signs the max deal with PHX we match and he stays. he COULD have taken the QO before these developments. unless we work out a trade or something since "his heart is in PHX"

Thank you
Now can we please just stop acting like we are going to hold him hostage here for 4 years/hoping he lied to the media and move on? It's not the end of the franchise.
