Given her age that is probably not the best news, but she was diagnosed "within the past few weeks" and is "doing well".

buddy's 95 year old grandma got it in March. She's still kicking.
I'm sure this old bird has got this.

What percentage of the population has had it, were asymptomatic, and were never tested because of it? 40%? 60%?

I’ve had it...

Irony is I think I got it in New Orleans on holiday...or at the airport... all the symptoms came within 5 days of getting home and tested positive.

All very mild though.

Unlikely.

A CDC and JAMA reviewed investigation released a month ago, based on randomized blood samples taken from various screenings across states like New York, Florida, Utah and a few others showed only a very minor presence of antibodies. In NY City, hardest hit, the presence was at it’s peak, and was only 24% of the city’s population showing antibodies.

It did estimate the number of cases was likely 2 to 13 times higher than the currently reported totals. 13 times being if you basically assumed NYC’s results were representative of every state and city In the country....Which seems hard to swallow

But if we’re talking about strictly Nola, or even south Louisiana, I’m sure the rate of cases is higher due to Mardi Gras. I wonder how many people got it on St. Charles alone.

Probably higher than the national average for sure, but an upper bound of 60% of the cities population being asymptomatic recipients of the virus? Meaning we aren’t even counting the symptomatic cases yet? Seems hard to believe without a much higher positivity rate for one.

Has anyone ever read anything about her plans for the Saints and Pelicans if she were to pass away? I know the leagues are against it, but it would be nice if we could end up with something like the Packers have with Green Bay, where the "community" owns the team. Screw the leagues. Al Davis showed that they are paper tigers and can be sued into submission in the courts.

You want the city of New Orleans to own the Saints and Pels?
The same city that let 2 dead guys hang out in the open from a hotel for almost a year?
The same city that has the worst municipal departments in the country?

Who are you expecting to be the person in charge?
The shareholders, or idiots that buy stock in the team, elect the board members. There's 45 board members. They are worthless, just like any politician. They also aren't paid money, so they say. Those board members select an executive committee to actually run the team, as well as the president.
In what world do you think New Orleans wouldnt frick that up?

And that assumes this was even possible, as the NFL or the NBA would never allow that to happen again.

Not certain about NBA, but know that NFL no longer allows that type of ownership.
