Per spotrac, Pels are only 4.2m below the tax. Do you have some examples of players you would sign or trade for with the Hawkins, Jose contracts outgoing?

Zion
Trey
Poole
Murray
Herb
Bey

Missi
Looney

Fears
Queen
Peavy
Karlo

Jose
Hawk

This is a pretty fair breakdown of current assets and rank going forward. If we can just take Jose/ Hawk and add another player with value between Bey-Looney range then we are set IMO.

I thought it was a little over $6. So even at 4.2+ Hawk would be $8.9mil and with Jose include $14.4mil.

I want Sam Houser and we can make that happen. Malik Beasley would be nice if he's cleared and wants to come here. Westbrook is available.

Sam Houser/ Anthony Black/ Jaimie Jaquez/ Kelly Oubre Jr/ Dean Wade/ Ron Holland

Some of those guys might not be available but those would be great moves.

I mean even with the $9mil from Hawk/ Tax we should be able to add a player possibly even better than Jose to make Jose our #14. If we keep Jose then I want our roster to be good enough to only use him for emergencies and blow outs. And that wouldn't be a bad thing. We don't want to hope our roster is worse so that Jose is needed for 20 minutes a game.

I think you are underrating Jose and greatly overrating Peavy. Jose has been a net positive player from day 1 and has had real interest from playoff teams (Milwaukee just last year). Peavy is an unproven mid second round pick. I would say he has no value other than being a throw in to a deal. If last night is any indication, he will not be in the rotation to begin the season. Hawkins is terrible and should not be in the NBA. He has no value other than his contract.

The fact that they are right next to each other in the depth chart rankings and 1 hasn't played a real nba game should tell you I am not underrating Jose even if you want to put Jose slightly above Peavy.

Jose can only do so much at PG/ SG and can still be a liability times. He's also not amazing on nights he isn't efficient in a SG role. Jose is an undersized PG that we don't need and that we ideally need to play SG. So no, I'm not undervaluing him and its just not the fit. If Peavy can come off the bench and guard high level SF's then he's already a more important player than Jose.

Only Pels fans would say I'm "undervaluing" a player who is outside of the top 10 rotation, capped being undersized, and capped at potential being 27 years old. He is a 27y/o sub 35% 3pt shooter who is praised for his defense that isn't even amazing because he can only do so much at 6' and still gets bullied in situations. It also took him averaging 24.4min a game to finally break 10pts and he really shouldn't be playing over 20.

I'm not undervaluing a guy who will rarely break 10pts on a season at 27 y/o who isn't an ideal PG or SG fit. Y'all just don't want to accept it.

that’s way too many Jose minutes. 15 is plenty and you can leave him in for stretches longer if he’s shooting well

Watched replay. Fears really stood out to me. He was…at ease it looked. I’m no nba guru but that stood out to me for a rook. Reading the board am I wrong on him? He looked good I thought with a more mature presence than many of our rookies of the past.

Some of the OU fans still follow him so thought I’d post one with his highlights in case anyone missed game and wants to see some of his play.

No. He has looked good and ready to play sooner than most of us thought. I've been willing to give him and Queen a bit of a pass for this season. But it would be awesome if either one, of both, are in our top 10.

He was very good late in the game. Against the first and second line guys, he looked like a rookie, but showed a lot of poise late in the game.
