Definitely explains the strong attendance. I was just stating a point and you decided to crawl up my arse.

It matters because people want to see the team get a little better support. I don't see how this is such a difficult concept for you to grasp. You may disagree with it, but it's hardly rocket science.

Which people? You? Is that what you mean?

Support = attendance and attendance alone?

I am not the one failing to grasp this relevant concepts here.

I think everyone knows the Arena being next to the Dome and CS is the best overall location. That drive will be more worth it when the team is winning. If they are horrid, the team playing on the front lawn would hardly get a full viewing.

Disingenuous. One of the smallest and poorest markets in all of professional sports. It is what it is.

The Arena is also a bitch to get to and from for anyone that doesn't live in NOLA. I'd make a lot more games if the Arena was in Metry or Kenner.

so sorry, next time you say something I disagree with on this internet forum designed for debate and discussion, i will be sure to keep it to myself.

also, i stated it wasn't an attack on you but the prevailing sentiment on this board. it's irritating to me, so i made a point. you took it personally.

For real though, the arena/dome is pretty fricking painless to get to compared to many other pro sports venues.

From my house in metairie I got to the saints game and the hornets games this past week in under 15 minutes. You just have to know where to go.

Actually, you said you weren't trying to be an a-hole, which is just a disclaimer for acting like an a-hole, but whatever.

You can be as irritated as you want about it, but it won't change the fact that what I stated is the truth. For me (and anyone else in Baton Rouge with a profession, for that matter), it is difficult to get off of work at 5:30 in downtown BR and make it for a 7:00 tip in the CBD, only to leave CBD at 9:30 and not make it home until around 11:30 when I need to wake up at 5:30 a.m. Sorry for working, bro.

Oh but you clearly don't. Support means a lot of things, and people putting their butts in a seat for a cheap price is one of them. Maybe we don't need a certain amount of people to show up, but none of that matters, people (and yes I mean me, and judging by Hornets Talk and Hornetsreport I'm not alone) want to see the team get supported more. It's really not hard to do.

And the Arena is hard to get too?

Most of those routes are no help from BR because you have traffic getting to them from I-10. That time is also on top of the time I takes to get there from BR. So, while "15 minutes" is certainly painless, the 3 hours plus I have spend on the road is anything but.

i don't expect more than .1% of the people in attendance at any given game to be from outside of New Orleans. those who come from BR, good for them. i'm thankful for people like mac who make the drive with law school going on and shite. those who come from nearby mississippi, good for them too. same for those from the northshore.

i don't need people from BR or other areas to make any excuse at all. i understand how hard it is. i used to make the drive every once in a while when i was at LSU. what irritated me about what you said was that you would make the drive if it was only an hour, but because it's going to take an extra few minutes, then it's out of the conversation. those kind of excuses irk me. but that's just me. just my opinion. i just appreciate anyone who sticks with supporting the team, whether from home or otherwise.

Maybe it was the Alot that threw you off. I don't know, but you taking offense to that is flat-out silly. As it is, I end up having to take leave from work for every game that I want to attend. If you knock 20-30 minutes off of my drive, I probably don't have to do that and can make more games.

Oh, so some people want other people to support the team in one particular way while others are allowed to support in others?

If 18,000 people wanted to see people at the game enough, there'd be 18,000 tickets sold and 18,000 butts in seats. Guess what, it seems like it's far less.

I'm not really sure what's so hard to yada yada yada... rocket whatever...

I drive from baton rouge for games. Have last 2 years. Sometimes work makes iimpossible for me to make it from br which is when I give them away. Sometimes traffic jams take me out of it. It's a risk coming from br.
Getting there for weeknight games takes me about hour and half. It sucks oonce to Kenner but that wont ever change.
On way home I can make it in about hour 10 which isn't bad at all. Getting their is only part that sucks about games.

Next year I have to downsize package from full though because of the baby thing. Jut can't see making the drive 30+ times with newborn and juggling lsu bball tix. Gonna take smallest I can that still has playoff rights tho
