I hear ya. It's a pretty valid point. Race definitely can play a role in hiring decisions whether people like to admit it or not.

Exactly!!! We have a winner Johnny!!! Their records speak for themselves. I was against hiring Gentry from the beginning and I posted that and was bashed. Thibs had Rose out a lot but the guy still won. As for why is he not coaching, the guy can choose where he wants to go and remember Chicago is still paying him. New Orleans was never really serious about any other candidate other than Gentry.

And coaching elsewhere allows Chicago to pay less. I think he likes owning them.

I don't know how much that played a role with Demps though. He was really clear about wanting an offensive coach, and plenty people immediately started pointing to Gentry. That pretty much ruled out Thibs.

This team is sending a message--they are pissed Monty was fired and Demps retained.

I said early on after Monty was fired that we ran the risk of poisoning the well. Everyone seemed happy in training camp, but it seems that goodwill isn't carrying over.
AD, in particular, seems very out of it from an emotional standpoint.

I just never have understood the timing of the firing.
Also, why are injuries an excuse for Alvin but never could be for Monty?

Wardrobe and facial expressions.

Bc shitty GMs need a scapegoat for the unsuccessful crap teams they put together
Same thing is happening with our football club
Gentry is 11 games into his tenure. Monty's firing was a fallacy, but it doesn't change the fact that we haven't even sniffed what this team is like under gentry

There is no justification to keep Gentry around, he's clueless. Maybe give Demps the rest of the season, but it wouldn't hurt to send him packing either.
shite organization wasted a year of prime AD. Great job, Loomis.

Loomis needs to go. He's fricking up 2 organizations.
Dell needs to go. He got his guy. And his guy isn't playing 2 of the players he gave $50 million to this offseason.

All of this. I was very worried about Loomis' input when it was first announced. He's supposedly a cap guru, but I just don't see it. The Saints are always walking on thin ice salary wise.
Demps seems to have no clue how to marry a coach with talent. Asik was a Monty piece, so he gets Monty fired and hires a coach that Asik doesn't fit with while giving Asik a big deal. He gives Ajinça a big deal, yet his hand-picked coach can't make it work with him.
I was pissed when the team kept Dell around. People bashe'd Monty for struggling with years of shitty rosters, then he finally gets a decent (not good) roster halfway through the year and makes the playoffs. What's the result? People praise Dell for finally creating a decent (not good) roster.

I don't like hypotheticals usually but if they had won game 3 last year and kept game 4 close, I really wonder if Monty gets fired.

Hopefully he gets fired next week.
The arena looked half-empty last night.
It's going to look completely empty when we get to 1-15, 2-20, etc.

Bump. Clown let Cole shoot us out of the game.

Was a horrible hire to begin with. A fuking maypop retread with bad sidewalls.... :

He'll learn from this game.
Keeping Cole in for more than 15 mins a game is a mistake.
He played 23 tonight.

It's like Gordon was in the doghouse or something. It was so strange.
