Sons, Gasol was an All NBA center on 2 Laker title teams and 1 team that lost in the Finals. Excellent post defender, top 10 in rebounds and blocks in his years as LA's center. The best passing big man in the league, hands down.

Once Bynum developed/got healthy and Howard came along, he moved to the 4.

Let's also recognize that this "old" fart is averaging 18/12/7 since he returned from injury. You can hate on his price tag, but the guy is far from done and most definitely can play center. Let's get the facts straight here.

I'm a Gasol fan. However, making the move suggested in the OP doesn't do shite for the team long term.

same here. gasol has been killing it since he returned from his injury. he obviously is still a top tier player but the pelicans aren't at least for the next few years gonna be any type of contender and snatching pau would not make us an instant threat. pau may be on the decline when we are hoping our window begins, we need to focus on younger players imo fwiw.

Yeah, unless we make a nice run in the playoffs, I think Gasol hauls arse to a contender for his final few seasons as soon as his contract is up. We may be able to get a few mediocre pieces in a S&T at that point.

I agree. He makes like $20m a year. Not really conducive to what the Pels are trying to do.

I like him as a player as well and didn't want to see him slighted

I would like the trade, but I'd rather Meeks than Hill. All in all, I think that is about the best deal you can get for Gordon (I suggested Anderson, but that was before Kobe's injury). It's a win-win for both teams and Gordon gets to be back in LA like he wants. A Gasol/Anderson/Davis front line would be a great rotation, plus the team still has lots of options to build around them. Gasol would perhaps be a one year rental, but if the team is really aggressive and adds a couple of more pieces he might stick around for awhile.

EG/Lopez for Pau/Hillwho says no? Pau is expiring but would be THE perfect compliment for AD. draft oladipo and bring in a VET SG and dell will have us all DOING the wham bam thank you ma'am all next season DRIVEMAN OUT
That would set the rebuild of this team back significantly. Terrible trade idea.

Yeah, I'm not liking that trade idea. I like Pau, but not for this team.

We have a ways to go still, don't think adding him would be the right move.
