The main problem is effort and it was the same way in high school. He was rated the #1 player in his class for awhile then Rivals dropped him to 3 because of lack of effort. They eventually moved him back to 1 after a dominating performance at some camp. The main thing with him is that he is a really talented player but will he put in the work to reach his potential. That might be a big problem once he starts getting NBA money.

Drummond just turned 18. Many people still believe he has the chance to grow even more and be a true 7 footer. Combine that with his athleticism at his size and that's the excitement surrounding him comes from.

I would as well, as I think he's got a better shot of "getting it" with the Hornets.

In terms of picks, Drummond could be Greg Oden while Davis could be Kevin Durant.

Does anyone know what makes Andre Drummond so special that he's at the top of draft boards? I have not watched him play a game this year but 9.7 pts/7.6 rebounds a game obviously don't jump out at you

he's got an NBA body and athletic ability

like with all big men it comes down to where they want to be. do they want to work at their game like shaq, or be sam dalenbert/brenden heywood?

same thing with bynum

it takes time for bigs to develop, so it's hard to judge where 18 year old big men will project

some will play with great effort/intensity and put in work like howard, and some will just coast for 10 years. some will be in the middle, and improve in 1-2 areas and ignore the rest (like deandre jordan)

Thanks for posting these. Going to be interesting to see how Terrence Jones, Perry Jones, Quincy Miller, Austin Rivers, and Drummond (if UCONN makes it) position themselves with their tourney play.

Big discrepancy of among them on Lamb. I'd love to get him with the 2nd pick.

I just don't comprehend how they are rating two UCONN players as lottery picks given that team's disappointing performance.

Think we could get Rivers with the Minny pick?

I'm guessing that people will try to blame Jim Calhoun's issues for the team's struggles while trying to sell Drummond because of his measurables and Lamb because of his lights-out shooting behind the arc during the title run last season.

Highly likely. Very debatable whether he'll actually enter though.
