That’s not a knock on queen, I like him but they vastly overpaid for the current asset.

I disagree with your assessment. You can argue it was a risky move with a decent chance at being a huge swing and a miss. But a player like Jokic is worth, what like 7 1sts at least? Queen could easily return more than 1 early 1st in value if he keeps developing like this.

I’m curious to know who do y’all imagine we would draft next year ? Lebron james type player ? Lmaooooo
9/10 it would be another dq level player with potential wake up from y’all’s pipe dreams every year “let’s tank for a top pick” when will you fools realize that doesn’t work

I guess you're just not smart enough to get it. There was no problem trading up for Queen. The problem was giving Atlanta way more than was necessary to move from 23 to 13. Why would you not Top 10 protect the trade when you know Atlanta would have gone for it. Every single writer and pundit said it was a disaster of a trade. And that in no way is an indictment on Queen, who has been even better than I could hope for so far this year.

I'm going to try and dumb it down for you because I think you really need the help. If you bought a house for $500,000 that was listed at $300,000 and never even attempted to come in at $300,000.00 initially, its just stupid. Even if in years the house grows in value past $500,000, you needlessly gave away $200,000 for no reason. The articles after the trade indicated that Dumars went to Atlanta without even asking for Top 10 or even Top 5 protection. Its beyond stupid no matter how good Queen turns out to be.

Why are you acting like you know how the negotiations transpired? You’re just guessing. At some point, we just have to move on from the trade. What’s done is done. It makes no damn difference to harp on what could have been over and over. The good news is Queen is a stud, if Queen didn’t look the part then we’d really be in some deep shite but that’s not the case.

Also, is anyone really willing to claim that Flagg looks substantially better than Queen at this stage of their careers? Queen could walk away from this class as the best player in it. Who’s to say the Hawks didn’t have Queen rated highly as well? From the Hawks perspective, I’m sure they didn’t want to drop out of pick 13 just for fun, had to be worth it for them. Now we have a franchise centerpiece and they have to hope they draft a good player next season (easier said than done).

I read somewhere that the guy they drafted after moving down was higher on their draft board than Queen.

The guy that played 8 minutes in a game they won by 33? Hmm.

He's right there with Cooper Flagg as far as odds to win the award. Have you watched any basketball this season other than the Pelicans?

Have you or are you just looking at the odds?

This is what they just refuse to get.

Just wondering,

does anyone have actual proof that Atl would have done the trade with protections on the pick?

Yeah you idiot. Cooper Flagg based on the odds has a 55% chance of winning the award if it was awarded today.

Dart isn't even the favorite to win and those odds are awful considering he's not even playing this week.

Aren’t you subscribed to my discord? I promise gou, I’m not the one to have this argument with because you haven’t made one.

No clue, hard to know what the discussions were. It was said that the Pelicans tried to trade up with teams that picked prior to the Hawks and those teams declined.

To add to this. Teams from 8-12 also declined our trade offer.
