Does it make anyone else happy that we just trade raped the Lakers?

I tend to agree. Not sure why people could be upset about this trade, if anyone is.

The only people that are upset about this is simply because it’s the Lakers, which is stupid. If Boston gave us that, they’d be ecstatic. It’s just people being spiteful instead of using their brains.

I hate the Lakers (almost as much as the Rockets) and I don't like Davis, along with James. So makes them even more fun to root against. Its going to be a great season when they shite the bed..

Well put. I have To remind myself that we had no chance of keeping AD and the players run the league now. We pretty much had to give him to the Lakers or else.

Given the hand we were dealt, it’s a great haul.

But still, Rich Paul is a POS.

When you remember that we just set ourselves up tremendously for a player that would have walked for nothing, it’s incredible. Combine that with the fact that the Lakers can’t even offer a max deal due to cap space, it’s a win.

What is the deal with the cap space? They said that the Lakers want us to wait to complete the deal, so that they get more cap space (if they wait, sign the pick and then trade they get more space). Are we doing that? Or is the deal final before the draft?

I’m not 100% sure, but if I’m Griff, I tell the Lakers to shove their cap space up their arse. But who knows, I’m sure more details will be available soon.

ETA: just saw July 6. Lakers WILL NOT have enough space to sign a max.

It’s what you said. They likely put something on it that forces us to wait.

Damn, I guess it really doesn't hurt us either way. But I would rather get it all completed now..

I’m liking it more knowing that LA can’t sign anyone to a max now. An aging LeBron and AD (who has proven he can’t elevate the players around him).

Did you? I actually thought the deal worked for both sides. Lakers are not like other teams, they never really build from the draft. They are a name players want to go to and they didn’t give up Kuzma (which was the one piece they wanted to keep).

So Pelicans get some young stars and future draft picks but who knows what those picks will be yet. Lakers are a team very capable of making seven playoff appearances. Yes Lebron will be gone but like I said players want to play there and with AD they are attractive to join for years to come. So the draft picks might be out of the lottery.

Plus the Pelicans just took the Ball drama off their plate. The kid is good but the dad is a cancer. Think this was a good deal for both especially saying the rumor was nobody else had an offer for the Pels.

I was so pissed at anthony but now I’m super thankful he pulled his bitch move. The changes have been cataclysmic. The best thing that could've happened to the franchise. Gayle got serious and dumped dell for griff. Huge updates to medical and scouting. 5 million in upgrades to the like 3 year old practice facility. ZION WILLIAMSON. Big haul for AD. This happened in one fricking season

Great trade for the Pelicans. I’m shocked that there are a lot of happy Lakers fans. They won’t win a title with just AD and Lebron.
