Does anybody miss New Orleans being in the eastern conference?

I always felt like New Orleans should be in the southeast division in the eastern conference. Did you like how it was before Charlotte got the bobcats or you enjoy being in the western conference with all the Texas teams and Memphis?

I like the West even though it sucks to have to play all the best teams more than the worst teams

Even ignoring the much tougher path to the finals, I much preferred the 6PM games to the 8 or 9PM games. Everything about the move to the West sucked. I'm legit shocked that the first two responses were pro-WC. frick that shite.

Much rather West as a season ticket holder.

Even though it is tougher competition I like the West teams better. Having said that over the years the hornets/pelicans with Chris Paul in his prime could have made a deeper run in the eastern conference.

I wouldnt mind the pels in the east(they wouldve made the ECF last year imo) and it could lead to a natural rivalry with ATL
But the competition is better and ive enjoyed the Hornets/pels battles with the other SW teams over the years.

Not anymore. The momentum is shifting and shifting fast.

Not really. The east has a nice top 4 but the rest is mediocre. Dallas was .500 vs the East this year. If Kawhi comes West to LAC, and NOP somehow keeps AD and knocks out their draft pick/trades it for a TJ Warren + something more, it’s going to be a bloodbath in the West next year.
Dallas will have Luka, Krystal’s, possibly their draft pick and maybe Cuban finally swings something in FA.
NOP could have AD, Jrue, draft pick, and a decently deep roster as we’ve sorta found out last half of season.
PHX actually was decent as Ayton figured out how to rotate defensively. If they sign a true PG and a couple other things break their way, they can be a solid .500 team next season.
Sacramento’s next step is playoffs. Fox/Bagley is one of the better under 23 duos in the NBA going forward.
Jaren Jackson looked like a ROTY contender at times next season.
The West is stacked and may even become the most lopsided it’s ever been if Kawhi joins up in LAC. Just about every team has a really good 1-2 punch going forward in the West. I just don’t see the East closing the gap and if anything, it’s going to widen some more.

From a time and wins standpoint, yes. I can understand people who live in the area liking the West Conference more due to star power that comes through once we know we don’t really have a chance.

All of this. I wish teams would move to the west opening it up for the Pelicans to move back to the east.

It really sucks changing conferences affected the state of the franchise so much. We most likely wouldn’t have gotten AD in the first place (for fun imagine we did have same teams as last few years). AD led teams would have made playoffs every year in the east. FO could have been more patient and we probably look similar to Milwaukee right now.

How can you miss something from that long ago lol. We were in the East for a short period, wasn't even that successful then.

Not really, I enjoy competing in the best divisions/conferences
I'd rather grit through a tough division and make the playoffs, sweep the higher ranked 1st round team and then lose to the GOATs over winning a subpar division and struggling in the playoffs

Uh yeah, frick the West. We might have legitimately made a run to the Finals if we were in the East last year
