When was "the last time you checked "? I never heard of new Orleans nit being an attractive place for a free agent. If a person dislikes a place, then maybe they shouldn't talk about it. Lockdown defense should get stabbed.

It is an obsession based on emotion rather than an opinion based upon objective fact with some of the posters.

There are two things that can make a franchise an attractive destination for free agents.

One is being in a glamorous big market: L.A., New York, etc.

But another is being run by good management and producing a consistent contender: San Antonio

If New Orleans is seen as the right kind of organization, it will certainly draw free agents as easily as do Dallas, Houston, Memphis, Milwaukee, Portland, Orlando, Atlanta, etc.

Since when have Memphis, Milwaukee, Houston or Orlando ever been desirable Free Agent destinations? Dwight Howard and Shaq couldn't get out of there fast enough. No one wants to live in Milwaukee and they been irrelevant since Lew Alcindor left. Memphis - get real.

Bottom Line: Lock up Gordon.

What did Gordon play last year...like 9 games? And you want to offer him a max deal already? Come on, New Orleans.

I'm don't think he is worth a max deal at all. I don't want to tie up a max contract in someone who has been so injury prone and played in less games each year of his career.

As far as a contract goes: Is there a way to structure a contract that is based on % of games played to ensure that he is worth the deal from year to year? if not, what are some other options to ensure he is worth building around?

Harden is not a free agent, so he's not "out there" barring a trade, in which case you may as well include Kobe, Wade, Ginobli, etc...
