“It was an option with New Orleans,” Mirotic said. “That’s all I heard. I said, ‘OK, you guys (agents) can think and see what’s the best for me.’ We’re going to make a decision, but we don’t have to rush to make a decision. This happened yesterday. It’s not even 24 hours. It’s nothing to do that fast.”” – via NBA.com

I also read the Lakers were offered a 1st for Clarkson and Randle. The Lakers aren't sure if they want to take on salary though. I wonder if the 1st they were offered is ours.

While the Los Angeles Lakers try to shop Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle, it appears they are already getting legitimate offers for the pair.
As ESPN's Ramona Shelburne explained on The Lowe Post (h/t Lakers Outsiders), the Lakers have had offers where they could get a first-round pick back. However, they might not make one of these moves unless they could also get salary relief.

Could Mirotic be another case of "fools gold?' He has really done nothing his entire career until this year. Could it be a case of getting more opportunity to pad stats on a bad team? He's been a 41% shooter his entire career and all of a sudden, he is a 47% shooter this year. Are we seeing a spike in his game or a temporary 25 game blip? Let's hope it is the former.

His attempts and percentage from 3-10 are up some. He's also finishing at the rim at a career rate. I'd guess we're looking at Pace and Space and maybe more transition. Hoiberg's wanted to run it since he got there but this is the first year he didn't have to fight Jimmy Butler. Chicago is 12th in Pace this year at 100. They were 20th last year at 97.7

Mirotic is the real deal. He would be a perfect 3rd big with us. He is probably having his best year because he isn't starting; he did well in the 3 games he started this year (due to injury). I think he would give us similar production as Ryno.

Pelicans and Bulls have reached an agreement in principle on Mirotic trade, league sources tell ESPN.

So, Nelson is gone is there any way we could still get Monroe and Kemba? Still need another PG, no?

First-round pick the Pelicans are sending Chicago in Mirotic trade is protected 1-5 in 2018, per source, with gradual easing of protections in subsequent years.

We have 13.5 mil going out and 12.5 mil coming in. I can only see us getting Monroe. Not sure how we could swing Kemba without giving up Jrue.

I have no idea how they could do that which is why I asked the question.

Yes, we need another PG. I wonder what player we can get with: Ajinca, Diallo, 2018 2nd, another 2nd, and Ian Clark.

Well, if Nelson is being cut, any way he comes back to NO on a different contract? Or is that allowed. Obviously showing my ignorance here.

Don't think we can get Kemba. He is on the books for 12 mil .

I would be happy with Elfrid Payton.
