Did the Season stoppage cost Zion the ROY award?

Was going to be close, but I think Morant wins it now.

Cost him improving his chances to win, but that's really the most we can say/assume.

He was likely not going to win it maxing out at 37 games, even if we did get that 8th seed. that's just too many games to miss while Ja did play well.

as the designated morant fan on here, my two cents is yes.

finishing 8th gives it to morant. they were picked to win 27 games and finish last in west.

if zion carried pels to 8th it should have been his.
imho.

I don't care how many game he played. Zion has been the best rookie on the court not just this year, but he would have been considered the best on the court most years the NBA has been in existence.

It doesn't help him. I'm not sure if it cost him the award considering it wasn't his to lose yet. Regardless Zion and Ja are gonna fun to watch for the next decade.
