Too hard for him. Team gives up lots of points and he screams for someone to be fired.

That's as far as he can go mentally

Things change dumbass

What changed? we lost Emeka Okafor and added Julius Randle. Lost Rondo and added Payton.
Our defense was better without Rondo. Okafor barely played. The only thing that has really changed from last year is no Rondo, and added Randle.
That's personnel changes only.

What changes are you talking about, dummy?

Yeah no. I went into detail in my second post in this thread, but you choose not to address it.

Your argument holds no water.

That wasn't detail. You basically said they got lazy from time to time. That's not a critique of the defensive scheme. That happens in an 82 game season, especially on the 2nd night of a back to back.

Detailed would have been saying something specific with how they guarded the Lou/Harrell pick and roll, or how they chose to defend Gallo or Harris when they had mismatches.

I personally didn't think we played bad defense in the second half, and especially the 4th quarter. They just hit some big shots late, a lot of them highly contested, and we missed 3 of 8 free throws down the stretch.

I apologize for not breaking down each play in where the team got abused on defense. Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that the entire team looked extreme poor on running their defensive plays and some of that has to do with the coaching.

To Crewz point, things change throughout the season and it is the coaches job to adjust. The defensive coach is not doing that.

confused, or just tired? lazy d.

The last possessions of the game went like this.
Lou contested 3 as the shot clock expires that he luckily made.
Harrell missing both free throws after being very smartly fouled by Solo
Gallinari missing a jump shot he had to moon ball over AD.
bullshite Lou Williams free throws on a call that Jrue never gets on offense.
Gallinari made step back jumper he had to moonball over AD.
Harrell easy layup off pick and roll with Lou
Harris misses running jumper after good d from Jrue
Harris makes running jumper after good d from Jrue

That takes us back to 4 minutes left in the game, when we were up two shooting free throws, and missed them both.
8 possessions there to close the game out, and i'd say we played good D on 7 of them.
We didn't lose b/c of defense. We lost b/c AD decided to watch Jrue exhaust himself on both end of the court while he wanted no part of scoring the ball in the last 4 minutes, and we missed 3 of 4 free throws in that time frame, from our two best players.

This is why I complained about complaining without details. Whether you agree with Teddy's breakdown or not we'll at least be discussing basketball rather than just barking back and forth at each other.

They had numerous articles all over national media saying how wonderful of a job defensively the Pelicans did against the Blazers during the sweep. It's like some people forget the second half of last season happened.

My only complaint with the defense is it appears we are slow on close outs and give up a lot of uncontested 3's. Seems like teams always have good shooting nights against us.
