I’d have to look at the CBA but, last time this happened, part of the fallout was Joe Smith’s contract being voided.
I think the only reason it didn’t happen to Kawhi was that Toronto has traded for him.

I agree. The league didn't want to punish the Raptors for something that they had nothing to do with. If the Clips hadn't traded Kawhi, he'd have been suspended for a year, and Silver would've just fought the players' union.

Kawhi’s contract was negotiated in good faith and its terms are completely normal and market standard. It’s all the other outside income that is the issue. Voiding his contract was never going to happen.
What they should have done is made him admit guilt and return all of the money. He knew what was going on and why it was going on. I’ve lost a ton of respect for him being such a fricking coward about this
