Why would they give up a lottery pick, Gordon, Kaman, etc for a guy that will only play there for a year?

I would take Kaman and draft picks over anything the Knicks have to offer.

Dude there was plenty last season to get pissed at him. You are taking 4 good playoff games and forgetting when he shite the bed forever in the middle.
Henderson and I yelled at him drunkenly is only reason he tried in playoffs

I would love to see CP and Blake Griffin on the same team.

Look what Paul did for Carl Landry...imagine what he would turn Griffin into.

SO he shite the bed and still finished the season as the best player at his position?

Hope he shits the bed a lot more, then.

Sources who recently talked to NY & NO were left with 2 strong impressions: Knicks have almost no confidence they'll get CP3 via trade...

...and the Hornets sound resigned to the fact that they will have to trade him somewhere.

The Clippers aren't going to give up key cogs on their team for him for a one season rental.

If CP3 is saying he wants to go to NY and only NY gives him all the leverage.

For those defending CP, I don't think anyone is really faulting him for wanting to be traded.

What does PISS ME OFF, is leaking that he wants to go to the Knicks only.

That seriously fricks us hard. It puts us in a position of either trading him there for jackshit or playing chicken with him and letting him walk there for less money.

We have to exhaust all deals and find one to a decent team that he will sign an extension with that is worth a frick.

How can you people forget midseason? Yes...he showed he was the best when he cared in the playoffs outside of quitting in game 6. Bit to just omit about 2 months of the season is just stupid

He must not have been watching when CP3 was getting outplayed by the likes of Jose Calderon.

Mid-season weren't we on another 10 game winning streak?

Again, I ask you, if you he really shite the bed that bad, how did he still wind up as the PG with the best PER? His expected wins added was top 10, ahead of Russell Westbrook, slightly behind the league's MVP, Rose.

Your allegation that Paul basically did nothing for 2 months is pretty easily proven false when looking at stats. Players who do nothing for 2 months don't finish near the top of the league in performance for their position.

eta: The whole "CP3 is a quitter" bullshite is something that started on this board and is carried on by a select group of posters who throw it out in every thread about CP and they all pat themselves on the back for saying it and state it over and over and over and it just never ends. It's a re-affirmation of their own mythology.

How about I phrase it instead of shutting the bed...he played less than inspired basketball.

And let's not forget he ran Marcus out of town cause he coudlnt handle not being most popular

From earlier in thread

One of the more under-reported stories from 2010-11 was the way in which Paul tended to coast when his Hornets needed him the most. In February he averaged just 14 points and nine assists in nearly 39 minutes a game, often disappearing down the stretch of close games. In April, with David West(notes) out for the season with an ACL tear, he managed just 11.4 points and 9.4 assists in seven games.

While good...that's not pg in NBA

He may have had a rough patch, but I don't think it's because he's a quitter or uninspired.

I don't buy that he ran Marcus out of town either.

There's a lot of things that point to CP3 loving New Orleans, I'm not sure why people would think he would want to get rid of another player just because they might be more popular than him. People on this board seem to have an inflated view of Thornton's worth anyhow, but that's another topic for another day.

Yeah basically this.

I really truly cannot be mad at him for wanting to leave. The Hornets have been a fricked up organization since the moment he got here. We aren't a contender right now.

These players aren't slaves. They've earned the right to move teams when their contract is up. It just royally fricks us over if he is 100% committed to playing for the Knicks because we lose all flexibility.
