Assuming Pels might be trading Herb and/or Trey in near future...

---it seems to me that the Warriors...rather than the Lakers...would be a much better target for Pelicans to strike a deal with...given Warriors have several first round picks they can send to the Pelicans.

---IF...Warriors don't somehow make a move and get the "Greek Freak"...I could easily see them going after BOTH Herb and Trey...in what SHOULD be a very good deal for the Pelicans...long term.

You trade both.

Neither are winning players.

Zion, we're not going to get much of anything back, but Trey can get us back in the lottery.

I doubt any seriously-contending team would be interested in Zion...especially if they were asked to give up first round picks...which is exactly what the Pels should be looking for in any trade.

Pels would obviously like to move Zion...but I'd guess it would be in a separate deal...from a Herb/Trey deal.

You don't have to trade Trey. Even if he will never be a #1 or #2 option his value can increase and his contract is still very good for a +20ppg player.

We don't have to trade Trey because of the assets we can get between Herb/ Zion.

Herb will fetch you deals like:

Knecht + 1st
Moody + 1st
Max Strus + 1st
Maybe we try to get 2 1sts.

Zion is complicated because teams want to give picks and limited assets but we want the assets.

Bulls: 2-3 1st (want Giddey)
Lakers: (Can't trade for him without Reaves)
DET: 2-3 1sts
Nets: 2-3 1st (want Claxton or MPJ)
CHA: 2-3 1st (want Kon)
POR: 2-3 1st + Grant (want Sharp/ Avdija)
MEM: 2-3 1st (want JJJ)
MIA: 2-3 1st (want Hero)
ATL: 2-3 1st (want our pick back)
Kings: 2-3 1st

IMO whatever team is willing to give up one of those "player assets" has the trade advantage.

If we are looking at a minimum of (3) 1sts and (1) young player for Z/ Herb then we really don't have a reason to trade Trey right now UNLESS that trade gets you your guy.

Like if we can trade Zion, Herb, and Trey and end up with both Giddey/ Reaves types shite then you do it but otherwise you just keep Trey.

I think I do it merely to emphasize a particular word or group of words. I find it a way to possibly make my meaning a bit more clear...when NOT speaking "in person".

As for Tourette's...not applicable in my case...although I am definitely "on the spectrum" as far as autism is concerned. Got a brother that is waaaaay more autistic...but he is still very functional. I personally think that MANY people are "on the spectrum"...to some degree or another.

If it's not obvious, by now...I tend to over-think...just about every subject I
discuss. In a GOOD way...imo. My wife says she doesn't understand how I can go through life that way...I say...I don't understand how she DOESN'T.

There is no chance Zion is getting 2-3 1sts in a trade. Zion’s a good player, but he doesn’t play and teams cannot allocate that much cap space to a player that has sat more then he’s played.

Why is this so unrealistic? That team is trading for 3 years of a player who at his best can be a top 30 NBA player. They wouldn't be trading for him if they don't see that upside.

That trade is starting at (2) 1sts and fillers. We are talking 2 firsts in the 20's not top 10. So if there's now 3 teams that are willing to offer 2 shitty first and fillers then one of them will end up offering 3 shitty firsts and fillers.

Its not crazy at all, especially if we aren't getting a young asset back and only picks. He has 3 seasons left. If we don't get atleast 2-3 firsts or a younger piece to add with Queen/ Fears then we just keep him... Believe it or not we have leverage and if several teams want him then that leverage increases.

Having Queen makes it easier to leverage leaving Zion's arse on the bench > trading him for pennies.

We would only need 3-4 teams seriously interested in acquiring him to make that happen and that's way more likely than y'all make it out to be.

(2) 1sts is nothing for BKN to get a big name and attention.

CHA would probably easily give us MIA 27' + DAL'28 with fillers in a heartbeat to add him and still have all of their own picks.

CHI would give us (2) 1sts to pair him with C White and Giddey without having to trade either of them.

BKN has a shite ton of picks so we probably want more, Kon would be great but he won't be available so the next best thing is CHA 26', CHI is the most enticing.

If I had to guess right now the best assets on the table would be CHA 26' or CHI 26'. Those teams would rather give us 2 shitty picks > those 26' picks and that's probably where we are at.

Yes to any of those

I think Her and Trey have good contracts, they are good roll players

Herb and Zion. Trey is untouchable with the correct surrounding cast.

There is no Pels long-term. This team will be moving to a more profitable city with a new owner.
