If you want to know why we gave up a pick to get him, read this.
I really expect him to have a big game tonight, as he has a little something to say to those people who say that he's a big downgrade from Lonzo.

As an arbitrary and fun data set, over the last two seasons, the only two players to launch at least eight threes per game and shoot 37 percent while posting at least five assists a night are Graham and Damian Lillard, per StatHead.

I’m not gonna declare “perfect fit,” but the argument for it potentially being a great pairing is certainly there.
I said in the other thread, and this article touched on it as well, what this team needed to do is replace the stagnate shooters and playmakers of last year with guys that are chaos agents off and on the ball, can knock down threes, and can play into Zion’s strengths as Point Zion, like the inverted pick and roll that was utterly lethal until JJ fell apart.
No reason Graham can’t give us some of that, same with NAW and BI(Murphy possibly as well, everyone has talked about his shooting, and for good reason, but he’s shown the sort of instincts you almost can’t teach as a guy using his gravity off the ball to open up looks for himself and others).
And if Hayes’ three pointer is real, a lineup combo of Graham, BI, Murphy, or NAW, with Zion and Hayes, with plenty of Zion inverted PnR’s worked in, could be basically unstoppable. I just don’t know how you could conceivably defend a 4 out team around Zion that can play solid to good defense?
Maybe, maybe the Bucks could at least match up against it somewhat, but we already saw point Zion obliterate that team once last season despite Giannis having an insane night.

I dont think ppl realize how good of a passer Devonte is. Always has been dating back to Kansas. No one expected his shooting to be this good in nba but I think he will fit nicely with Zion and BI. Very much an upgrade from the eric guy.

I think he’s going to do well here. His preseason has been pretty terrible. But also, I feel like Zion and Ingram being out most of this skews things some. Especially for him who was brought here specifically to complement them and they’re not playing.

quote:Exactly, intake nothing from his preseason and haven't lost any confidence at all. He'll be playing a different role once we're healthy, hopefully starting openings night.

I was the first person on the board to mention going after him when almost everyone was clamoring for Lowry. I figured the Hornets would come off Rozier or him. Rozier was my first choice but Graham is a good fit considering rage cost of what was available.
I don’t mind the first for Graham, but it should have been for the Lakers one, which just sheds more light on how bad the Adam’s trade was.
