Anyone else like the thought of Deshaun Thomas as our future SF?

He is really a solid do-it-all player. The Ohio State forward for those who need to look him up

I like throwing a max deal at Josh Smith next year.

Nah bro, he is a down low, power SF that we don't need. This allows other teams to put their PF on him and their SF on Anderson which ruins his spacing because a SF is more comfortable guarding the 3pt line.

With Smith on this team we would be able to Have a crunch time lineup of Grievis/Gordon/Anderson/Smith/Davis and not be a liability on defense. Smith can play the 3 or 4 and even small spurts at the 5. Plus, he is just too talented to not atleast look into it.
It's a long shot, but it's possible.

Waitwut
Josh Smith? Isn't a down low power small forward just a power forward?
Smith shoots 3s, handles the ball, dishes etc. He's not a down low banger

Yeah how will we fit him into the lineup?

He is a 28% 3 pt shooter plus he only made 25 3s all last season. Thats not what I call a 3 pt shooter. We need a SF who can stretch the floor and burn a PF if they try to put the PF on our SF and put the SF on Anderson.

He can stretch the floor and burn whoever guards him. He has a good all around game.
I'm not sure I understand what you want. A guy who can shoot 3s?

Josh Smith would be the IDEAL add to this current lineup...
Fits in Personnel wise and is an UFA

I just think a late-4th lineup of:
Vasquez
Gordon
Anderson
Smith
Davis
Would be tough to guard and tough to score on.
The rotation would look something like this
Vasquez/cheap PG/Rivers
Gordon/Rivers/cheap combo guard
Josh Smith/Anderson/cheap stretch forward
Davis/Anderson/Jason Smith/Josh Smith
Lopez/Jason Smith/Josh Smith
Not sure how the figures would work, but considering we currently have more than $17M in cap space tied up to 2 players not even on our team (Lewis and Carrol) I think this could possibly work.

Everyone in favor of josh makes you smith obviously doesnt watch basketball.
regardless its not going to happen we dont have enough cash look it up if we bring back guys like lopez, draft a player, etc.
best scenario i have heard is around 10 million to use

josh smith is a very good player...i don't see it happening. I think we stand pat at PF and C.
Anderson, Davis, and Smith would be a logjam. Davis would have to move to center full-time or not get starter minutes (i think we all want him to get big minutes next season).

We can pick up every option (we probably will) and be at $42m in salary. Cap is expected to move up to right at $60m.
