Anybody already sold on Corey Kispert?

After watching his shooting release and off ball movement, I think that’s the player we should pick. His release is quick too

I think he’s fine. We need players who can either guard or shoot, so he fills one of those holes. I’d personally rather gamble on a guy who can already guard but can potentially develop a shot.

Shooting is more important than defense. Rather have a more sure thing and something that helps BI. Shooting helps BI way more than Zion. Zion has shown that he will always get his. Adams and Zion have clogged the lane for BI. We need to try and mitigate that by drafting shooting and developing Jaxson’s shot

I feel like we can get McDermott for less than the MLE or pay a bit more for Olynyk and grab Davion Mitchell in the draft instead

Even someone like cam johnson helps the suns out so much with his shooting
I said the pels didnt have enough shooting at the beginning of the year and everyone said we would be fine.

I thought he was going to be the guy we should shoot for....until the tournament when I really watched him intently for a few games. I just don't think the guy is a good enough athlete to be able to create his own shot in the pros. Or defend.
You're going to get a guy who's absolute ceiling is Kyle Korver. And that's probably more than I would expect. Can't defend, not much of a passer, like I said can't create his own shot and just not quick enough to do much on the drive. And worst of all he's already 22.
A catch and shoot guy that's already older than half our roster? And the second he got hit in the mouth in the Final Four completely disappeared? Is that worth a top 10 pick? Meh, maybe, but I sure feel like we can get better value than that in the lottery.

If we dont get lucky in the lottery drawings, id be very happy if Davion Mitchell fell to us. Im very high on him. I think he has some Marcus Smart fire in him with a little better shot.

I would let another team reach for Kispert at 8 -10 pick.

I’d say his ceiling is a player somewhere in between Klay and Korver. He plays more like Joe Harris than Kyle Korver if you really watched him all season.
He also does not get the credit he deserves for other aspects of his game just because he’s a white shooter. He’s a strong 6’7”, 220 lbs, can run around quickly the entire game, and actually has some burst when it comes to jumping and straight line drives. He will be a slightly below average to decent defender, but not terrible. Can he create his own shot consistently or other’s shots consistently? No, but we have Zion and BI and hopefully others that can do that
It just isn’t fair to him to treat him like a washed JJ Redick when he’s really a possible Joe Harris, which is perfect for the Pels

Kispert is definitely not Klay, and i don't think he's Korver either. Korver has one of the quickest releases in basketball. Kispert isn't that quick. He's by no means slow, but I haven't seen him running full speed off picks, catching the ball not facing the goal and going up for the shot, and making it. Korver and Redick do that. B/c they do that, their defender has to run around them and stay as close as possible to them at all times. That's how you create space. He doesn't need to be able to create his own shot off the dribble. If you can attract that kind of defense against you, you're doing more than enough on offense for BI and Zion.
I haven't watched a ton of Kispert, and maybe he has that ability, but i haven't seen it in his highlights. It's been all catch and shoot 3's where he's already got his feet and shoulders squared up to the basket. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it's not that next level shooter like Korver.
As someone else pointed out, I'd rather Mitchell, or Moody, and do what you can to bring in McDermott.

These guys seem like dogs. I like Mitchell, fill his calendar with Fred Vinson appointments and see what happens.

dude shot 44.7% from 3 last year on 4.7 attempts. I think he'll be alright.
More importantly for him, he shot 65% from the free throw line for 3 years.
I really want to get Moody. I think he has the highest upside of all the guys in our range, and he isn't one of those high ceiling low floor type guys. At worst, he's a 3&D wing. At best, he's a scorer, and at his size, 6'6" with a 7'1" wingspan, that's an allstar.
Musselman raves about Moody's BBIQ and his determination as a defender. That's the kind of guys we need on this team, and he just so happens to be a fricking SF. He's got a lot of Jaylen Brown to his game, although it took Brown a good 3 years to get to the level he's at now. Moody is still 18, will turn 19 next week.

Moody doesn't have that kind of athleticism. If Moody has Browns athleticism, he'd be surefire a top 5 pick in this draft.

If he can add weight to his frame, which most people think he will, then he can be more Kris Middleton than athletic Jaylen Brown.
The biggest thing you see in his scouting reports is needing to develop a mid range game and floater b/c he isn't more than a straight line driver at this point, and that's Middleton's forte on top of being a great 3 point shooter. Middleton uses his size and length to get off shots, not athleticism. Same with Tobias Harris.

Moody checks almost all of the boxes that Griffin and Langdon could want in a wing prospect. We've passed on too many good wings in the last two drafts. Youth, Defense, Character, production, and potential. I really hope this is the draft that Griffin/Langdon doesn't think twice about taking Moody if he's there.

100% agree.

I want Keon Johnson if he's available first, then Moody second

The problem I see with Johnson is fit. There's no way he's going to get the type of development he needs on a team that's heavily developing Zion/Hayes/NAW/Kira. Johnson occupies the same space that Zion and Jaxson occupies right now. Until he develops into a competent shooter, his skillset going to be wasted here. His handles aren't good enough right now and I see a lot of Okoro in terms of impact and production in the first couple of seasons.
If you want a guy with athleticism but can likely contribute while he develops especially without a credible 3 point shot early on, Bouknight would make a lot more sense since he can dribble, drive, finish in a variety of ways at the basket along with a pull up if needed. I like Keon but he really needs to go to a team that will give him a ton of minutes to develop.

I like Bouknight a lot
He's not great off ball, but we can trade for a guy like that, or overpay for McDermott
