You really believe Demps and Gentry handle this right??

No! If Davis is traded the team needs a fresh start. New Coach and GM.

Great. Not that I didn't think this was coming, just going to hate hearing all media, on all channels going into overdrive on this story today. Possibly all of this week too.

Wtf is up with the timing? He knows we can't trade him until the summer because of the Boston issue. Why let this leak now when it'll just create a circus for the next six months?

This reeks of LeBron.

Saw this coming a mile away...can’t blame him.

He’s wasting his time here with this chickenshit coach.

It's the coach fault Ad has misses like a 3rd of the season so far and the rest of the team is hurt every other game?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t this frick our leverage? AD will just tell any team that he doesn’t want to be traded to that he won’t sign long term and that will impact our return.

Step 1 complete on my Gentry/Dell restriction plan:

quote:

1- Leak out that Pels plan to trade AD in summer. Or even start listening to offers in Feb 6 months of media frenzy will drive up interest, owner pressure and subsequently price.

2- Restrict moves that can be made this year. No first round pick.

3- Instruct Alvin to keep Randle in starting lineup and increase usage/minutes to drive up stats and value.

4- Try and get a young lotto tickets that could take off next year - ideally Dennis Smith Jr, or even a shot at Fultz or Ntilikina.

5- Move Niko and Randle at deadline. Set rotations and minutes to increase chances of a loss.

Ideally our pick is top 5-7. Should get solid assets for Niko and Randle.
That plus AD trade is a lot for a new FO to work with.

I think this is perfect timing. If this team doesn't do everything they can to tank then the NO Brass are idiots. I'll shut down Davis and Jrue for the rest of the year to ensure a top 5 pick. I wish it was done earlier in the month though.

I have no ill feelings of AD. I would just say this is on you, Pelicans.

We as fans knew Demps was given entirely to long as the GM. This man was given 8 years. Unreal.

Then Gentry. We all knew that was a poor hire from the start. He has done nothing of note with his time here. The man even got an extension.

It was because he doesn't want to go to Boston. He wants LA and now we'll just have to eat shite.

fricking Dell. This is entirely his fault. If everyone could read the tea leaves from a mile away, did he legitimately not see this?

Only so much a small market team can do. He decided he was on his way out a while ago and his effort showed.

The team is under no obligation to trade him before the deadline. The worst AD can do is sit out games which improves the team’s draft pick. This could be about Rich Paul trying to help his other client LeBron, but it could also be about telling the Pels to not do something crazy and short term to fix something that can’t be fixed. This becoming public might force the team to clean house instead of believing Demps when he says he thinks he can save the situation by trading another draft pick.

Hopefully LA, Boston, and new york keep the price up between the three.

I will say... the NBA lebron has created frickin sucks. My interest has dwindled to almost zero since all this shite he's pulled
