Maybe i'm just a lot higher on Mclemore than you are. I think he's the best prospect in the draft. An EXTREMELY rare combo of shooting and athleticism.

Afflalo's a nice player, but not someone that stops you from drafting Mclemore...if they like him as much as I do. If not, Burke is an easy pick for them.

Nobody had Waiters going 4th last year, for example.

I did , simply because Hollinger loved the way his numbers projected into the league.

But I agree with you, atleast a 50% chance one of the consensus Top 5 is available at 6 IMO

Ben McLemore is the next Xavier Henry.

Nope, I think he is the best prospect in the draft as well. Maybe Im reading too much into the mocks but everything points to Burke to Orlando.

quote:

6. New Orleans Pelicans – Dario Saric, SF, Croatia If the draft falls like this, Dell will likely be choosing between Saric, Alex Len, Michael Carter-Williams, and trading the pick. I would say that trading the pick is the most likely outcome at this point, but if the Pelicans do keep the pick I think they take Saric and groom him to be the small forward of the future for this franchise. I will say two things about this pick, however. 1. Somebody is going to fall. Every year, we think we know who the top five will be and all of a sudden guys rise and guys fall. Last year, I had Andre Drummond going #2 in my mock draft, for instance. On the flip side, I didn’t have Dion Waiters in my top 14. So it is very fluid and the guys to watch here are Alex Len and Anthony Bennett. If one or both of those guys intrigue GM’s ahead of us, one of the better players ahead of us could fall. The problem with that, however, is that both guys just had surgery and won’t be able to wow coaches and GM’s in personal workouts. If someone were to fall, my guess is that it would be Otto Porter. Washington could easily take Anthony Bennet and if that happens, Porter could fall right into our laps. 2. The Pelicans will look hard to move this pick. Eric Bledsoe, Chandler Parsons, and Demar Derozen. Guys like this will be targeted by Dell and if he can add a young veteran who can help the team short term and long term, I think he moves the pick.

Solid analysis by MM. I actually agree with my boy

Already better than Xavier Henry

We can't claim to want defense, potentially even passing up Burke because of it, then draft Saric.

Id move it for Parsons, Derozan, or Bledsoe, in that order.

I honestly have no idea what he is going to be. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a bust or a star.

No way they would. Bledsoe is a definite possibility. Can Derozan defend SF's? No way we pay EG and Derozan a combined ~$25m to play the same position.

Just going off the names MM mentioned guys

Although if Houston makes a run at Dwight and another max this offseason, they may wanna move Parsons for a cheaper option efore they can't afford to pay him in a year

You can't really get any cheaper. He's making under $2m TOTAL over the next two seasons.
