I’m surprised that y’all keep forgetting he’s a 19 year old rookie lmao

I don’t think anyone is doing that.

I think the consensus is look how awesome he is right now, despite not even being close to his full potential from a physical and skill standpoint, and he will vastly improve in both over the next few years and be even more unstoppable than he already is.

Watch these Duke highlights. The spring and bendiness in his step isn’t back to this level yet but will get there. His handle is very solid. Has play-making ability, can create his own as a slasher, his finesse and touch at the rim is as ridiculous as his athleticism.

The link above is 30+ minutes of his college highlights and worth the watch for anyone who didn’t watch him much. We are seeing almost all of this translate to the NBA already which is impressive. In the pre season against Utah there’s a play where he drove to the basket from behind the three and finished with such great touch. It’s clear he’s still getting back to form. Potential is best player in the league and anyone who think he’s just a dunker needs to open their eyes and watch the tape

i couldn't keep watching the college highlight but just the few minutes i did watch, there's such a huge difference between that Zion and the one today from an athletic standpoint. Zion looks stiff shooting today. I saw 3 jumpers he made and he looked like an actual shooter when he took them.
It's clear he's not at 100% right now, and i can't wait for next season when he is.

His injury has weakened his athleticism a little imo.

Anyway Watch his inch vertical in rising star (even if missed dunks)

He just looks a lot more instinctive in that video than he does now. Like he knows that he is the best player on the court and has no hesitations. Right now he seems to be thinking more, making sure he is making the right play instead of just assuming he is and can cover it up and correct it if it isn't. That will come soon enough, and along with an improvement in the slight bit of lost athleticism from the injury and being in better game shape, he will be an unstoppable monster instead of a rarely stopped animal. He used more athleticism in college and more power in the NBA, When he uses those two things cohesively consistently, it's going to be a sight to behold.
