Then let's throw Derek Trucks in there.

No complaints from me.

Davey Knowles and Kenny Wayne Shephard need to be added as well.

I prefer him with NMSA and I preferred Black Crowes without him. Never really thought they were a good fit honestly.

He is probably my favorite modern guitarist though

Well the Marc Ford era was much better no doubt, but I still liked it.

Oh without a doubt...

I didn't mean to convey that I didn't enjoy the Crowes with Luther. It is physically impossible for me not to enjoy anything that Luther puts his hands on. I just preferred Crowes under Ford.

Talk about a whiz on the slide guitar! I really can't believe nobody has mentioned Billy Gibbons or Elmore James, the father of the slide guitar!

Sure I'm nitpicking but Elmore James was considered the King Of Slide Guitar....

The father of slide would have to be Sylvester Weaver who recorded the first known use of slide in 1923

Regardless Elmore was a fricking beast

No disrespect to elmore, but every time I hear him play, I can't help but want to switch the track to a Duane solo.

Elmore was the father of slide, but Duane was the master of the slide.
