I think he's selling a million first week man I guess I'm an optimist.
This has happened what...15 times in history? It can't be many more than that. I believe that group is headlined by Britney Spears, Nsync, BSB, and Taylor Swift. Kinda sounds like the teenage girl crowd drives a good bit of that IMO

Idk, I'm sure Google could help you.

Yeah, because that's the main demographic that purchased The Massacre and The Carter 3

No.
Trust me man, I was born and raised in the ghetto. I grew up hustlin' off the streets, ditching class to work corners, banging bimbos- all to the soundtrack of Illmatic , J Dilla, The Chronic , Ghostface Killah, ATLiens, and the Cash Money Millionaires. I was #1 in Central City, and taught Mannie Fresh how to lay down the beat. And I just am not feeling hip hop these days. A breath of fresh air is needed.
You catch my fade, jigga?
Word is born.

So there's nothing in the mainstream or flying under the radar that you like?

Yes I have. Summer Knights is my favorite mixtape of the year. 95 til infinity is straight fire and anyone who really thinks Kendrick would "kill" him if they went at it is kidding themselves.

Joey is solid but honestly nobody is really messing with Kendrick at the moment

It did and I was pretty close.

Quick check shows:
Nsync - Twice
Eminem - Twice
BSB - Twice
Taylor Swift - Twice
Britney Spears, Usher, 50 Cent, Lady Gaga, Limp Bizkit, Lil Wayne, Garth Brooks - Once

What about the other 13 or so?
I'm not bashing the music, but selling a million albums your first week is a tall order...and a rapper isn't likely to do it.

1/3 of those times are hip-hop or R&B
Pretty good percentage to me

If you wanna hear true hip hop, you need to learn the correct spelling of Rawkus. Google Rawkus Records and thank me in the morning.

Jay-Z couldn't hit 550k with MCHG. He's way more recognizable than Drake and appeals to a much broader audience.
A million ain't happening.
