I tried to like Panic, I really did. I needed something to fill the void from Phish's hiatus during '04-'09. WSP came down here a lot and it just made sense. I have been to several shows and they are one fricking boring band. If I had to choose their live or studio output I'd actually go with studio.
Their shows get VERY repetitive. A bunch of the songs are indistinguishable from one another.

It's music by southern simpletons for southern simpletons.

Obligatory WSP songs to start with:
Chilly Water
Tall Boy
Ain't Life Grand
Space Wrangler
Pigeons
Airplane
I suggest you download the live albums: Live in the Classic City, Panic in the Streets, Light Fuse Get Away, New Years Vacation Shows (2003), and Uber Cobra. Also the Colorado Springs '98 and Johnson City '01 are great archive releases as well
Any pre-2002 shows with Mikey still alive will be better than anything post-2002 but nobody expects a replacement to perform up to the standards of a founder.
PanicStream will be your place to find all their live shows to stream from the interwebz.
Hope this helps. Don't worry about the haters. They just repeat everything that people say on Phantasy Tour to give them lot cred.

my favorite song they do is slipping into darkness.
I recently found out that was a cover and have been trying to find a new favorite panic song. No luck yet.

OK
After I have seen a band 5+ times over a 7 year period I think I can form my own opinion: WSP SUX

Don't worry, thats nowhere nearly as bad as the clown on here who thought that JoJo dressing up as Liberace for Halloween was a Lou Reed tribute

I could blame it on a number of substances but that's neither here nor there.
I fricked up.
I fricked up bad

Uh nah man that was uh somebody else. He doesn't post here anymore. In fact he doesn't live in the US anymore. He went off the grid in Canada

it's all good. I suppose not knowing who Liberace is
might be a good thing in the scheme of things.

Jimmy may forgive, but he certainly doesn't forget.

Jimmy likes Elaine. Jimmy thinks Elaine is just his type.
