Thats what they get for scheduling an old washed up band, then trying to replace that one with a second old washed up band.
Only to be left with......Widespread Panic

Music board never ceases to amaze. It was extremely ambitious to get the Stones. Then it was unlucky that Mick got sick. Fleetwood Mack sucks anyway. There is less than 3 weeks before the show and you expect them to get a legendary act to fill that spot? cut some slack.
BTW, Panic is going to bring it. I'll be noodling behind the rail.

Seems a pretty appropriate choice based on the mood of Jazzfest organizers right about now.

From the Rolling Stones to Fleetwood Mac sans Lindsey Buckingham. Now, to an old, tired, washed-up Widespread Panic...yikes.
They should have just assembled an "all-star crew" of locals and well-known musicians around New Orleans in hopes they can pull in some magic together (Anders Osborne, Dr. John, Galactic, George Porter, Art Neville, Little Freddie King, and so forth).

Food vendors have been advised to increase their inventory to account for Dave Schools being on site.

They’ll also need to load up to account for that even-more-massive-than-originally-anticipated green cloud that’ll be hanging over the Acura Stage area from 4:30-7:00 pm.
If you could get a concession selling Pop Tarts and Cheetos off a cart for that time slot, you could retire on the profits.

For the record, WSMFP is about to make a shite ton of new fans after they get filthy on the tracks.

I can't wait till the WSMFP fans clash with the rest of the jazz fest crowd. should be a great time.

That scenario makes no sense to me. Panic has occupied the locals Thursday, every other year, going back quite some time now. There is a reason they get more time for their set than anyone else, bring up local acts like various Mardi Gras Indian tribes, etc.
Panic is a part of the fabric of Jazz Fest despite what some may think.
Now Phish and their criiiingy barbersop quartet acapella snoozer from a few years ago...Sore. Thumb.

How much money were people refunded after going from The Stones to a jam band?
Posted on 4/10/19 at 8:52 am to buffbraz
I think Jazz Fest just automatically started refunding the money spent on the Stones tics.

I love that they have no other dates JF weekend and will likely hang around town and sit in with others.
I've seen panic with Nola Artists: george porter, dirty Dozen, Dr. John, MG Indians, wild Magnolias, Karl Denson, Ivan Neville, John Gros and numerous others. For people to say that WSP is not connected to Nola, is bullshite.

Yep, we were asking if that's the name of the band or is that Quint Davis' current state of mind?

Hell, the year I moved to Nola (08), they played a late night street show, come one come all, on Dryades at some bar owned by a tribe member. He was about to lose his bar, so Panic said fvck it and played an impromptu gig for free just to get people in there spending money. JB's wife is from Nola, he has a charity that has rebuilt homes in Nola.
Panic has been drinkin' the dirty Fishwater for a long time, and has contributed more time, money and goodness to the city than everyone in this thread combined.

Yep and I think they are finally going to get the credit they deserve once all of the pissing and moaning stops. Like them or not, they are a huge component of southern rock for 3 decades.

Please god just let them play the fairgrounds and leave.
