Why is post Malone so popular?

Is he just that innovative? Why is his shite so catchy? His instrumentalists are nothing crazy and neither is his word play, how did this happen?

I'm 52 and I find Post Malone to be aight.
His songs are catchy and have simple melodies and rhythms. I don't put on the "Post Malone" channel on Pandora, nor do I have "Post Malone" playlist on spotify, but if he comes on whatever channel I'm listening to, my head isn't going to explode.
Dude plays an instrument, writes songs, makes bank, nails whores. Good for him.

He makes catchy/fun songs and doesn’t take himself too seriously. He’s not meant to be in the rock and roll hall of fame or anything.
He does has a little bit of talent when he goes into other Genres. I would like to hear him do an album where he did more stuff like that.

He has a unique sound and a unique look. His music is different for his genre, and his tunes are catchy and easy to listen to. I think he's pretty talented, even though I dislike a lot of his music.
ETA: He's got some cool acoustic covers on YouTube, playing a guitar and singing. Pretty neat, IMO.
