Pop culture is horrible. It's always been awful but somehow saw fit to get much worse.

I'm obsessed with these guys right now. I hate I missed out on the Papa Emeritus era.

I just watched a multi-hour documentary on Stevie Ray Vaughan on AXS. Reminded me how I went a couple years listening to almost nothing but his first three albums.

I’ve not encountered any music since that drew me in that strongly. I’ll get into older bands like the Stones for a while, but none of the newer ones stick. Jack White is pretty good but does not capture me like Zep, SRV, Van Halen, AC/DC, etc. did in my era.

Radio/mainstream rock music took a dump on itself in the late 90s and never recovered when Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock became the biggest acts of the genre. It was like the twilight zone for me when all that boring crap with zero substance flooded the airwaves, but luckily file sharing came along and made finding new music easier.

It actually led to me buying more music. Was curious about jazz and older blues but not enough to blindly buy albums. Used Napster to check out Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, and others. Bought quite a few CDs after testing the waters by file sharing.
