They are awful live, I mean awful.
Was watching the Coachella stream of them and my god, can't sing at all, and just an overall boring show.

because albums don't have to be performed live.
there are plenty of acts that can't play for shite that can maintain a following because they sound good in the studio.

Well yeah they do, but apparently people just care more about auto tune and what not than actual talent so they continue to thrive which is nothing new.
God that was awful, whichever one was on the left, I think Sara, sounded like a wounded dog, no energy on the stage at all, and the crowd was just dead and waiting for them to be over.

I like them. Didn't see the set, but I've seen them sound good live in numerous videos. Either way, it won't stop me from enjoying their studio albums.

Bands that aren't good live sort of kill the fandom for me. I can still enjoy them, but they'll never be a favorite.
I saw Foster the People on Palladia one night and they were sooo god awful. I still enjoy a couple of their jams but I don't even try to dig deeper.
