Lucky my mom was into the Beatles, Santana, Brazilian bossa nova, Stan Getz.. My redneck dad mid-sixties was listening to WXOK in Baton Rouge so I got a good dose of Otis Redding, James Brown, etc. First album purchase at age 13 was In a gadda da vida" and off I went.

Country music in general. I always swore I hated country music, but now I find myself listening to it more and more.

I still don't like a ton of their stuff but their history makes them more fascinating to me.
Most of the stuff I like I enjoyed when I was 16. My mom had eclectic tastes and that had an influence. Probably the biggest influence was that she liked live albums, which I am a big fan of. Most people I know don't like live recordings.
