Personally I like The Who better than PF but I prefer The Wall as an album.

The Wall, easily. I tried watching Tommy once, couldn't finish it.

Both are incredible albums

I love both but The Wall is definitely the winner for me, so much going on in that album.

It's like it hits all of your emotions over the course of the album.

The Wall is the perfect album to listen to on a good set of headphones.

I really like the Tommy album, but to me, The Who are at there best as a live band.

The Who - Live at Leeds is by far my favorite live album.

If you are basing your judgement on the movie you are way off base. Watch a video of them doing the soundtrack live.

Are we talking album or movie?

Album-toss up, neither are their best work, good but not their best

Movie-Tommy has prime Ann Margret rolling around in baked beans. No more needs to be said.

The Wall, and I would pick Quadrophenia over Tommy.

As far as albums go, The Wall. Not really a fan of either movie.

I was 5 when Tommy came out. My parents had the album and that cover totally freaked me out. If an album had a black cover(a lot of them did), I'd flip past it without looking down...just in case it was Tommy.

Nah, they’re both in my short list of favorite bands but they’re entirely different styles so not particularly comparable.

There is an extended version of Live at Leeds that is 2 disks and has their entire performance of Tommy on disk 2. That's the version of Tommy that I prefer, the studio album of Tommy is good but just too bland for as great a band as the Who were at the time.

Also previously stated - Quadrophenia is a better rock opera album than Tommy IMO.

I think The Wall overall is a better work than Tommy.

The movie Tommy is so ridiculously bad its literally unwatchable.

Neither is very good, but I'd go with Tommy.

Well, I'm a PF fanatic, but the Wall suffers from a lack of editing. Too much filler vignettes. Waters tried too hard to make a sonic movie, and I don't think it stands up to the previous three albums. It. should have been a single album.

The Wall is fine as a movie soundtrack, it's just plodding as a rock album.

Exactly. These were musical rock operas before there were movies. Listen, not watch. Tommy has great music IMO, and is the highlight of a Who concert when I've seen them.

Love the Wall too, however, and it's probably held in higher regard generally, but I'll take Tommy when driving around in my car.
